While I'm on my lunch break thought I'd take a second and do a quick post.
First off -
desoto_hia873 pointed out in her lj that IMDb is hosting a poll on which September movie are you most looking forward to, and Serenity is one of the movies on the list. Go
here to vote. So far, Serenity is leading but Corpse Bride is close behind.
Secondly -
manoosha has a meme in his lj. Go to
www.musicoutfitters.com and type the year you graduated high school in the search box on the left. Then pick Top 100 Hits of ____ Then you're supposed to:
Bold the ones you like.
Underline your favorite.
Strike through the songs you loathe.
*Star* the ones that you're embarrassed now to have liked then.
%Percent% the ones that will always get you up on the dancefloor after a couple of drinks.
I went pulled up the list for the year I graduated, but I'm not going to do the meme because it just too much work. *g* However, I did make an interesting discovery that I liked pretty much all the songs that were top hits that year - 1969. At least the ones I can remember readily. Some I'm not sure about, but for the most part it's a good list. The only ones I really loathed were Crimson & Clover by Tommy James and the Shondells and everything by Elvis from that year until he died. Sorry, but I consider that his crap period. ::shudder::
The repair man came and fixed my dryer this morning, so I'm going to be able to wash and dry my clothes without having to schlep them to the laundromat before vacation. Yay! It was a good thing he was thin and fairly young because my laundry room is way small and he didn't have much room to maneuver in there. It was the belt that needed replacing, just as I thought, so thankfully it didn't cost too much - $75.00, and with luck my dryer will last many more years.
Well, must return to work now. I've been very good today and have really gotten a lot done. Yay me. :)
