Amazon deletes 1984 from Kindles.
This is one reason why I'm very leery about buying an electronic reader. I heard a report on WVPBS about publishers worrying about e-book "piracy". So what would be piracy? Sharing the file you bought and paid for with a friend? Is it piracy because it's an electronic file whereas I can take the book I purchased and lend it or sell it or give it away to whomever I choose - and it's all perfectly legal? At least if I buy a copy of 1984 in real book form, I don't have to worry about the words disappearing off the page because some publisher gets their panties in a wad.
