It's written. Yays!
I actually have my story written for the John/Rodney it's only just begun fest. I finished the first draft of the final sex scene this afternoon at work... yeah, it was one of those days. I already had the ending written, I just needed to write the sex leading up to the finale. I've rewritten the first part of the story quite a bit and I'm fairly happy with it. The second half probably needs a bit more editing though I'm much happier with what I ended up with compared with what I started out with.
I do have to admit that I cheated a bit on this fest because the story I just finished has been moldering on my hard drive for a long time in a half-finished state. I really liked the first half and it totally flowed when I was writing it, but then I got to the second half and hit a stumbling block.
The stumbling block's name was Carson Beckett. He kept wanting to be chatty exposition boy, and he was driving me nuts. And no matter how many times I shouted, Oh my god, Carson, just SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY, he totally wouldn't. Nothing I did helped, and so I put the story aside.
And then, when velocitygrass posted her plans for the fest, I thought of this story and suddenly, things started to work out in my mind, and I finally found my way around Carson and his big fat mouth. *g*
Once I'm satisfied that it's ready to be sent to the beta, I'll have to find someone. At least for once I'm well ahead of the game and there's no rush to get to the deadline.
And I'm more than seriously pleased that I actually did some writing. Maybe ignoring the show and playing in my own sandbox is helping renew by enthusiasm for writing John & Rodney. I hope so because I have several more stories that I'd like to finish and post. Maybe now I can.
