"In one of the most bizarre natural disasters known to modern man," the news anchor reported, "the small town of Sunnydale, California has been swallowed by a gigantic sinkhole. The numbers of dead and missing are unknown at this time, but they are estimated to be in the tens of thousands.
There is some hope, however," she continued, her face a mask of false optimism, "as there have been reports of what can only be described as a spontaneous mass exodus from Sunnydale in recent weeks."
Buffy turned off the television. She knew exactly how many were dead and missing.
