All that fresh air made me sleepy
I spent most of the day on my almost finished patio. I went out this morning right after I started the laundry and settled in with my book and my coffee. After the dew had finally dried from the grass I got ambitious enough to mow both the back and the front lawns, and I gave the patio a good sweeping. It still needs more cleaning, but I'm going to wait for that until everything's done. I still don't have nice furniture yet, of course, because that too is on the wait list, but I did drag down my canvas folding chairs that I'd forgotten I had in the spare room, and now I have three chairs and two tables out there.
It really was lovely to sit out and listen to the birds sing and watch the bunnies come around once in a while - one guy hopped right up to the walk in front of the patio. I stayed perfectly still until he decided to go back to the bottom of the yard.
Because my shrub rose bush is so big, I was able to sit behind it so that I was mostly hidden from anyone going past, and yet I could see to my heart's content. It was so lovely and relaxing. When the sun started to set, the air got a bit chill, so I decided to come back in. And I can hardly keep my eyes open. :-)
I think I'm really going to enjoy that patio this summer.
