Wow, you all were very prolific yesterday with the posting. It took me nearly forever to get caught up last evening. I was v. v. busy again at work and only was able to grab a couple minutes here and there to sneak a peak at lj. And I missed the entire zombie thing. :(

I'm still trying to catch up on Doctor Who. I was able to watch another episode last night, Boom Town. I don't think I'd seen it (or my aged brain forgot it). Now I'm down to the last two episodes of Nine's season, which I have seen before but don't remember all that much about. Then I'll watch Ten's first season and then finally I'll start on Torchwood and then season 3 of The Doctor when I get close to when it aired in conjunction with Torchwood. I like to watch shows in order just like I like to read serial novels in order. It's a thing. :)

The weather here has been fairly decent with lovely cool nights. I thought we were going to get a horrendous storm when I got home from work yesterday. The wind was blowing like mad and there were rumblings and flashes of lightening in the distance. But in the end, while we got rain there wasn't much of a storm attached to it. Which is just as well. We need the rain to soak into the ground, not pour down and run right off.

I finally finished the Angel: The Curse comic, which is an older series from a couple of years ago, and I must say I wasn't impressed. In fact, I had to force myself to finish it. The writer was Jeff Mariotte, and while I think he had a fairly good handle on Angel's broodiness, there wasn't any humor to overcome the drama of the plot. Angel all-brood-all-the-time does not a fun read make. I have his Angel: Old Friends graphic novel on order from Amazon.com not to be shipped until mid-July, and now I wonder if I want it. The reviews state it's better than The Curse so I am curious. Has anyone read this one? Is it worth getting if I didn't care for The Curse?

One of our employees is leaving to take a job with WVU, and I'm sad because she's the one who I do most all of my geek talking with. She's a fan of the Stargates and BSG and Blood Ties, etc., and I've been sharing my comics with her (which reminds me, bitch better give me back my Fray), and now I'll be all alone once again in my geekdom. When I found out she was leaving, I threatened to find out her new work e-mail address and e-mail her gay leather porn every day. She thought I was joking. ;P

angel the series, comic books, me me me
