OMG, will this week never end?

Maybe because of all the anticipation over getting my mother released from the rehab hospital on Thursday, but this week has just dragged on. It didn't help that I wasn't very busy at work either. I was busier today, but now I'm caught up and time has slowed down again to an excruciatingly slow pace.

I called my mom up this afternoon to see how she was doing, and she was in bed complaining that her leg hurt and she was sick to her stomach. Unfortunately, my mom is not the kind to work through the pain. Granted she's 85 and should be given some slack; unfortunately, I believe that that would be the worst thing for her. She needs to keep up with her exercises just as if she were still in rehab. Her therapist was coming at 2pm - I'm assuming for an evaluation - and so I told her she needed to be up and dressed and ready to meet with the therapist. She wasn't too happy at first, but then she agreed that she really needed to keep active. We'll see how long that lasts.

I watched the first episode of Ugly Betty last night, and I really liked it. We'll have to see if it keeps my interest, but I liked the characters - even the evil ones - so that's promising. I'm not sure if it's ever a show I'm going to love, and in the long run, that may be a sticking point. I tend to drift away from shows I merely just like if there is something else in competition. And in this case, Ugly Betty has competition from Survivor. I taped Survivor and CSI, since it was a two hour block on CBS, and watched, as I said, UB, and then Supernatural, which had an amazing episode to start the second season. See, that show? I love. *g*

The first episode of Doctor Who with the tenth doctor starts tonight on Sci Fi. While I'm not a huge Dr. Who fan, I plan on watching it and recording Ghost Whisperer. Yes, I watch Ghost Whisperer. Shut up. :D It's one of those shows I don't love, but I like it well enough to watch it. Of course, at ten, there's Numb3rs which I watched last week instead of watching the half-season finale of SGA. But I recorded SGA and watched it later.

Tomorrow's baby birthday party may be called off because of illness. My dad said that my brother told him that a couple of the little ones (remember that we have six tots five and under with this branch of the family tree *g*) are sick so they may have to postpone the birthday party. It'll be for a couple weeks before we can have it if they do because my brother and sister-in-law are going to the Mall of America next week and won't get back home until late Friday or sometime Saturday and the party is supposed to be at their house. In a way, I kind of hope they do postpone the party as it'll give my mother that much more healing time.
