Happy Wednesday that feels like a Monday, Everyone!

Yep, back at work today after a nice long four day weekend. No more of those for a while, alas. Yesterday, since I had no picnic/cookout/fireworks-watching plans, I did something I haven't done in a while - I played an RPG on my Playstation! Yay!

Unfortunately, the game I'm playing is not the most interesting. It's Arc the Lad which is part of the Arc the Lad Collection that I bought a couple years ago and never played. It's really...not that great. It's easy, certainly, but it really shows its age having been originally released in Japan in 1995. There is no roaming or exploring. You have a scene where exposition is expounded, then you exit into a screen where you can save your game, then you enter the battle screen, kill the monsters (and you can only move within the area outlined for your character), exit the screen, save your game, and go on to the next expository screen. The only reason I think I'm going to slog through it is that you can transfer your data from this game to the next one, Arc the Lad II. I can only hope that game is a little more exciting. I'm afraid that such classics as the Final Fantasy series, Chrono Cross, and one of my very favorites that I can play over and over again, Xenogears, have spoiled me for lesser games.

Wow, that was exciting, huh? *g*

I really have to get to work because it's the end of the month/end of the fiscal year/beginning of the month-fiscal year, but I have no ambition. I'm so ready to retire. So. Ready.

But, good news, it's a short week. Yay!

ETA: Gah, I wanted to pass this on. If you're interested in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, go to scifi.com and watch the Sci Fi Pulse Featured Video there. Interviews and a few scenes and Cap't Jack Sparrow! Go. Shoo!
