(no subject)
Jesse and I have been cleaning our place a bit at a time for 2 weeks. Ugh. There's still a lot to do. We've done some hardcore rearranging/throwing crap out, which was probably the hardest part. But now we're in the middle of doing all the small stuff that you normally never think of doing, like washing the doors. Gotta paint, which by the painter's estimate will cost us about $1300. And then you're supposed to "stage" your house for showing- take out a lot of knicknack-y things, make it look like there's lots of space everywhere.
We looked at a few houses Wednesday night. We found a brand new one that we like, and 2 other older ones that were either laid out weird and/or needed work. One of them had been sitting empty for quite awhile, apparently, because the basement smelled really damp and borderline moldy. The house that we really wanted to look at had a pool and hot tub, both of which were in poor condition, and the house itself just wasn't nearly as nice as it sounded online. Boo!
Ah, well. Back to cleaning this weekend.
