She stares at him sitting in her bedroom, open book laid upon her lap. She heard his voice and it snapped from the fictional realm of the pages to this world. This world of memories, thoughts, desires that swam in her heard and almost seemed real, like the story itself did. She continues to watch him from below, pointing at this car and speaking to her neighbor. She notices the rip in his pants, a small one on the left side near the rear pocket. She notices that he got his hair trimmed and evened out. She lets out a sigh telling herself to drop her eyes, to go back to another fictional world. She can’t have. She can’t desire him, not past the intense visions, not past the pounding of her heart. It isn’t allowed. It can’t happen. It can’t be. Still she stares. Watching him smile, watching him laugh, watching those beautiful, touchable, kissable lips. She licks her own lips feeling her pulse increase in speed. No it’s wrong! Her mind screams and finally looks away from the window, her eyes hitting the dresser but yet not seeing it. His image is still engraved in her mind, where it always is. She sighs again thinking herself a fool and knowing that she is. There can be no actual truth to this summers lie and fantasy, they will be no happy ending. With no beginning there can be no ending at all.
