life after new york.

it seems strange that i am finally getting around to updating this journal, seeing that i have been back in california for months and the last time i wrote in this was is may. i will begin this post with a little true story.

last tuesday night while walking home from the metro station, a man who was in his car with a dog nodded at me. to give you a description of what this man looked like, he had very short hair and a handle bar mustache. also, he may have been wearing glasses, but my memory is not certain. anyway, i nodded back and kept on walking. he must have made a left, then another left, and then another left because when i turned right onto my street he was stopped in the middle of the road. our conversation went as follows:

sketchy man (whispers): hey
me: hey...
sketchy man: looking to make some money?
me: not really...
sketchy man: okay, have a goodnight.

whatever service he wanted to pay me for, i guess will always remain a mystery. though based on the circumstance, i think we could all make a few educated guesses.

besides that, life in california has been pretty nice. fall quarter just ended and i should be heading south for winter break in a little over a week. it seems like time has been moving at a quicker speed then usual since i got back in september. i am having a hard to believing that it is already december.

living in new york for the summer was a pretty positive experience. one of my duties at the camp was to dj the socials, which was always pretty fun. i got to play really bad hip hop songs for a dinning hall full of kids all bumpin' and grindin', or as they would say, "getting mad dubs". being the naive child i am, i asked the older boys "dubs, as in the rims for cars?" and they responded with "no, its when a girl rubs her booty all up on your crotch". to say the least, working there was an educational experience. those new york kids dropped some "mad" knowledge on me. i am thinking about returning next summer, but am a little apprehensive to give a definite yes or no, seeing that a lot can happen from now till june.

really, that is all i can think to write about right now. to those who took the time to read this, thank you.
