Getting out

Feb 24, 2010 09:52

I’m sitting here drinking water, waking up after my shower, and thinking about coffee but not quite up to heading towards the kitchen. I’m in one of those mornings where I rush around throwing on whatever clothes are clean and don’t seem to clash (easy for me) and then heading off to a group of lady friends I see only once a month. Today it’s the Herb Society meeting. Last month Kitty was here with me and went as my guest. She got to see some of those folks, had a funny lunch cooked by the monthly committee, then we cut out early on the program to ride around in the day’s snow.

Today there is no snow, but crisp air and sunshine. I think the luncheon may be doubtful but the program promises to be good. A master chocolate maker from Bissinger’s will be giving a presentation. Now I have no idea how this relates to herbs, but I don’t care. Bissinger’s is an old world chocolate maker that we are lucky enough to have here, moved over from Europe in the early 1800’s. At any rate I presume samples will be involved, so how can that go wrong?

I’m aware of the birds singing outside my window and they put me in a hopeful mood for the day. Maybe I can just keep my mind off other things and go forward for one day. I should be getting new movies in the mail from Netflix and will be driving around a little bit today, not something I often. I will try for the best day possible.

Now I think I’ll go see about that coffee.
