Room 312: Wednesday Evening

Katara curled up on her bed, looking out the window up at the night sky.  She didn't think she could see the eclipse from this angle, but it seemed safer than going outside to look.

She shivered, her arms hugging her knees to her as she watched, trying not to remember the past two eclipses and their consequences.  Her eyes went to the water skin

Soon after he noticed the eclipse beginning, Sokka was running down the hall. "KATAAAARAAAAA!!!!! KATAAAAARAAAAA!!!"

He nearly overshot her door, but managed to catch his fingers on her doorframe and swing himself into the room. He stood there, panting, for a moment.

"Good... You're... You're... Okay. Good."

She swung up off her bed, hand on her book to throw if necessary.

"Oh. Sokka! You scared me!"

"There's no time!" Sokka told her. "Lock the door and watch out for Zuko -- there's a lunar eclipse going on!!!"

"I know there is!" she said quickly. "Why do you think I'm in the dorm! There's people all over so nothing can happen."

[sarcasm_guy]

Sokka looked around. "Well... Yeah. I mean, of course you know. I mean..." He shrugged. "You know, you really ought to learn a little hand-to-hand combat, or something. For eclipses, deserts, that sort of thing."

Katara made a face. "It's not like I'm planning on being in a desert anytime soon!"

[sarcasm_guy]

"Well, of COURSE not!" Sokka protested. "Once was enough!!!"

He blinked a few times. "Oh, right, that hasn't happened for you, yet. If it does, talk me out of drinking the cactus juice, okay?"

"What the heck were you drinking cactus juice for?" Katara asked, staring at him. "That sounds like the dumbest idea ever!"

[sarcasm_guy]

"Hellooooo," Sokka replied. "Desert? There was no water?"

[southernbender]

"Well if I'm supposed to talk you out of it next time, then obviously you could have survived with out it," she shot back.

[sarcasm_guy]

"Well, obviously I didn't know that at the time!!!"

[southernbender]

"Where would I learn how to fight anyway?"

[sarcasm_guy]

Sokka blinked at her. "You... realize this is Fandom, right? I mean, I could teach you some, but half the school probably knows more than I do."

"...well, yeah, but..."

She'd totally thought of that. Really.

[sarcasm_guy]

"Plus, there are clubs after school," Sokka continued. "One for guns, one for swords, and one for hand-to-hand." He grinned and jerked a thumb at his chest. "I'm in all of them. Learning all KINDS of stuff."
