Well, I just signed away some dollars to get replacement windows in the living room and dining room. It's long overdue. I might as well have imaginary windows up now, they let so much cold air in.

The guy who signed me up was nice, but not in a smarmy way. He lives nearby, so if the windows go bad I can go over and steal his dog or something. I tried to talk him into buying the house across the street, which is falling apart and creepy. There's no "For Sale" sign, but there is a green ticket on the front window. It probably says, "Haunted or Infested With Rats, take your pick." The people who used to live there just disappeared one day, but not before the police showed up and escorted two young guys and their belongings out of the house.

It's not a typical haunted house. It's a cape cod and it looks very conventional, but who knows what ghostly visitors have taken up residence? Probably a couple from the 1950s. Their ghost clothes are avocado green, burnt orange, and brown.

I actually am cleaning closets today, so my threat to myself from the other day was not for nought. However, after an early dinner, I might head for the sofa and read a little more of a Michael Crichton book. It's not to my liking so much, but it's words on a page.

Pasta is calling me. It says, "Ciao."
