... in which I won't forget to put roses on your grave

I just managed to freak myself out. I was watching CSI, the episode with the creepy dude who lives in his own attic (Stalker) and then he goes after Nick and god, it was honest to god terrifying. The concept of the guy was just done so creepily - CSI does the creepy music surprisingly well for a show that does it all the time - and then when you realise about the picture of the dead girl in Nick's email and it's awful and then the psychic guy has vanished and then you see the letter T and it's TRUE and then ka-blam, the guy falls out of the attic and there's a gun in Nick's face and gah!

*flails a minute*

I'm quite proud I figured it was the cable guy straight off, though, when Nick walked past him into his (very nice!) house. Oh yeah. I was helped by the prior knowledge that Nick gets a stalker at one point, though. And that we'd already had the cute Nick/Greg moment of the episode and so therefore the rest had to be angst and scariness.

Other random recent CSI musings have mostly involved the disturbingness of Grissom, of all people, possibly being a furry and the awesomeness of Nick and Greg. (They do 'rock' signs at each other! only Nick's is technically the American Sign Language for 'I love you'! Greg wearing his swami hat! Him singing "99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer! swab one down, run it through CODIS, 98 bottles of beer on the wall!" and Nick walking in on it and being all flirty! It's fun. Except for the scary episodes, dammit.

Anyway, the other thing I wanted to talk about was this band I foolishly agreed to go to a gig for without ever actually hearing them. They're called Show of Hands and, luckily, it turns out they rock. They remind me very much of the Chieftains, except good. (My only real experience of the Chieftains is in a cold, wet field in Brittany, and they were singing in French. Their French accents are bad enough that it's actually physically painful, although kind of cool as a curiosity.) They're the best example of their type I think I've ever heard; they rock. I also kind of like that they have stuff to say which I don't always agree with, it's kind of interesting.

All of which is by means of saying that I was checking out their lyrics online, as I often do, and discovered that they - and I shit you not - cover none other than Northwest Passage. Out of all the possible songs... yeah. If they play it at the gig, I am going to be a very happy Katie indeed. :D ... and make a Northwest Passage to the sea... *sigh*

ETA: Holy shit, they've cancelled Stargate! O_O
