Friday morning update
It's a beautiful day here. Sunny and 55 degrees. Things are turning green and pretty. It's great that spring has finally decided to show up. It makes everyone in a better mood.
Maria's boyfriend Nick was released from the juvenile detention center on Wed. He called her but she said he was acting "weird". I couldn't be happier! Hopefully they'll break up soon and she'll concentrate on passing 8th grade. With only a month of school left, she really needs to focus on passing at least 1 or 2 classes for the year. So far it looks promising for English anyway.
If Maria passes at least one major subject now, she can go to summer school. Then hopefully she'll advance to 9th grade. She wants to keep her position as a high school majorette. That is her strongest motivation. Summer school will run from June 13 to July 8th. It costs $75 a subject, maximum 2 per student. She's required to pass 3 major subjects to complete 8th grade. At least she's passing all her minor subjects so that's not a problem.
We've finally had a chance to go fishing. Lester bought 4,000 nightcrawlers so we have lots of bait. lol Kayleen caught the first fish of the season in the creek. It was a small bass. We had to toss it back because it wasn't in season. Maria caught a nice size rainbow trout. She didn't even want to go fishing but was excited she caught something. Go figure!
The girls went off to school today. Lester goes to work this afternoon. He was off for the past 4 days. I have some housework to do as usual. I've been having fun with Yahoo groups. I should get off the computer now and go do something. Things are fairly normal around here for a Friday morning. That's about all my news for the moment. Bye for now!
