He pulls up his browser, the round purple font staring him in the face ("Oh!"), beckoning him to watch the teaser. It's what 99.99% of the male population in South Korea has been waiting for, including him, but part of him dreads it.
She still calls him every now and then, to check how he's doing. He never has figured her to be the motherly type, but the way she speaks sometimes changes his mind. ("Did you eat well? Stop eating so many burgers, they're not good for you.") She leaves messages, most likely after her recordings and schedule, when he's asleep and he can hear the tiredness in her soft voice. ("You're probably sleeping right now, but... I miss you.") More often than not, she chides him into annoyance, which somehow entangles him into realizing how much he actually does miss her.
He figures there's no use in avoiding it forever and clicks the play button, the next thirty seconds of his life letting him travel back to the land he hasn't been to in almost five months. The land he had before called his second home, suddenly now feeling like his first one instead. The colorful style, exact choreography, addictive beat, and her cute smiling face is enough to catch him in a trance. And when it's done, the only thing he can think of is to grab his phone.
The next is a decision: call or text? It's morning there, she'd most likely be out or at practice, he knows how schedule can be a whirlwind when preparing for a comeback.
He scrolls through a few old texts first (one of their "Yes." "No." "Yes." "No." conversations, both were stubborn as hell) before opening a new one, the blank white screen staring back at him. He smiles to himself, already knowing the response he'll get when he sends it, putting the phone back on his desk.
To his surprise, it vibrates a few minutes and about five more watches of the teaser later, and he slides his phone open with a grin. Sometimes, she was just too predictable.
"I always did like cheerleaders."
"Perv."
