RUN- to depart rapidly, to drive, to thrust, to trace to a source, to pass through by force, to finish a race.
Webster
Isaiah 40:29-31
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that *wait upon the LORD shall *renew their strength; they shall *mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
*wait upon(6960)-the bind together, to lie in wait for someone, to expect, look for patiently, hope, to be enduring
*renew-change
*mount up(5927)-rise, grow up, to be lifted up
1 Corinthians 9:24 (Amplified)
Do you not know that *in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may *lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours.
*in a race-a continuous or repeated action
*lay hold of-to take, seize, may obtain, apprehend, percieve, understand
3 ideas:
1. You have to have a path/plan. It has to be from GOd. It can't just be a good idea or something that you really want to do. It's very easy to convince yourself that what YOU want it what God wants for you. Spending time with him is the only way to not make this mistake.
2. You can not underestimate the UNimportance of almost everything. Not everything is really as big a deal as we sometimes make it out to be.
3. Doubt will try to come in because the whole path that you are on may not be visible, but standfast in the Lord. He will not let you down or abandon you. You will finish the race and you will be on top.
