You can't filter from the deities.

I can try. It's not like they don't know I hate them anyway.

I don't think that hatred bothers them, particularly.

...You plan to stop them, you say.

I'm at least going to try to do something that REALLY bothers them. And I can't be the only one who thinks like this!

I'm sure you're not, but do be wary of consequences.

See, this is why I can't do it on my own. I know myself: I'll be too mad to plan anything good. Thinking things over has never been a talent of mine...

Even with a good plan, you should be just as prepared to fail as you are to succeed.

And do consider all the possible consequences of your act. Hurting the deities may have a strong effect on citizens, even those who are not involved with this.

But we can't. Things can't go on like this. At this rate... we won't recognize ourselves anymore... She changed too much already

---It doesn't have to mean hurting them. Just defeating them. But if that's what it takes, so be it. They've hurt enough people already.

There is not necessarily anything wrong with change. If we are in this City for a reason-- and I believe we are-- then perhaps the change that happens to us here is a change that's needed in our lives.

Perhaps you do not recognize yourself, when you have become new, but that happens to us all as we grow.

And what does defeat mean?

And is it truly worthwhile if you end up losing something important to you?

I know the way the City has changed some of the people I care about. And it only involved suffering and hard times. I won't let it happen to me. I won't become as grim as this place is trying to make me.

...Stopping them from hurting everyone, of course! Stopping the cruelty that comes with the curses! I'm ready to make sacrifices if I have to.

But they'll be my own. I don't want anyone innocent to suffer from this.

Suffering can help us to mature. I do realize that this City changes people sometimes in ways that don't seem pleasant... I see it in those I know. I'm not trying to discount your words, and yet--

I still feel that this change may be necessary. Just because we do not see it now does not mean it may not be needed later.

It is very difficult to define hurt. How do we stop hurt? Do we stop sending people home? Do we stop bringing them here against their will? Do they know what would be best for them in a situation?

You may be prepared to make sacrifices but you must also consider those who care for you who would be affected if something happened to you.

...I'm sorry, Yuuko. I know you mean well but can't accept that. It'd mean thinking everything that happened to Hikaru was meant to leave her scarred. And I can't possibly do that.

That's a risk I need to take. It can't be right, what this place is doing. There has to be a way to at least stop the curses that make people harm each other.
