THE CHARACTER
Name: Neytiri te Tskaha Mo'at'ite
Series: AVATAR
Age: Nineteen (Educated guess.)
Timeline: Chapter 19: A Son of the Omaticaya
History:
[here] Personality: Headstrong, noble and loving, Neytiri truly acts her role as the princess of the Omaticaya clan. She’s a fierce huntress who’s spiritually in tune with Eywa, their goddess, and the land itself. Groomed to be the next Tsashik in her clan, Neytiri is heavily influenced by Eywa and devotes her life in following the goddess’ wishes. While she is acts as a hunter/warrior by trade, Neytiri is hesitant to kill without reason because the Na’vi views all creatures to be children of Eywa. Believing heavily within the ‘Flow of Energy’, Neytiri only kills when necessary, never taking more from the land than she can offer. Her spirituality plays a heavy role in all her actions, even when a rogue ‘Dreamwalker’ comes roaming through her clan’s territory.
At first glance, Neytiri comes across as a spiteful native who’ve grown sick of the Sky People (the humans) who inhabit their land. The deteriorating relations between the humans and Na’Vi were caused by the RDA’s destructive activity on Pandora, so naturally Neytiri didn’t possess much fondness for humans. That is until she came across Jake Sully, the Avatar chosen by Eywa. Neytiri is hostile and rude to Jake when she first meets him, quick to compare him to a child because of his ignorance. However, at the same time she was compassionate enough to heed the woodsprite’s omen when the gentle creature landed upon the tip of her arrow. It is at this moment that Neytiri’s spirituality shines through, along with her respect for Eywa’s wishes.
Not easily swayed by the words of others, Neytiri is an independent and strong woman who takes the authority role when necessary. She challenges anyone who dares threaten her, even going as far as to defy her future-husband, Tsu’tey, when he tries to kill Jake on numerous occasions. Neytiri is fearless and bold, but sometimes this combination can make her a tad brash and impatient. She’s a tough girl to understand, sometimes frigid, but despite this Neytiri truly possesses pure and honest intentions. With Neytiri, it’s either you learn fast or die. Her intolerance to failure makes her a very harsh teacher.
Neytiri reserves her compassionate side for those who’ve earned her trust, and comes across as a light-hearted woman amongst friends and family alike. She’s a woman of many faces, but she is always loyal and respectful to both her clan and Eywa. Neytiri honors both her mother and father, and values her bond with her Ikran,
Seze, greatly. She soon comes to value Jake as well, but the love that blossomed for him wasn’t platonic. It was because of this that Neytiri seemed almost scared, afraid of what would come if she admitted her love to Jake. This suggests that Neytiri isn’t always bold or at least when it comes down to matters dealing with the heart.
She does possess a softer and gentler side, but good luck getting her to show it. However, she is a tad playful at heart.
Abilities: It’s because she was raised in a warrior society, that Neytiri is a skilled huntress and ranger. She’s able to track animals and humans alike by following their trails, and excels with the bow and arrow. Neytiri is also good at using daggers for close range, and isn’t afraid to get close and personal in combat. She is also a skilled Ikran rider, with Seze as her steed. Outside of her skills as a hunter, her training as Tsashik permits her to sense the energy and aura of the things around her. She can literally feel Eywa’s presence much like how her mother Mo’at , the current Tsashik, does so.
Biology she’s stronger than the average human because of the naturally occurring carbon fiber that builds within her bones. In addition, her long tail grants her with feline-like grace and balance. She is capable of easily climbing up trees, walking along thin vines, leaping from tier to tier.
Weapon: Her trusty bow and arrows, along with her dagger that she keeps at her hip. While Seze isn’t exactly a weapon perse, her trusty Ikran is capable of lobbing someone’s heads off with its massive jaws.
Preferred faction: Cosmos, why? Well, I would love to have Neytiri one day interact with Cosmos herself because of her strong beliefs tied with the Pandora goddess, Eywa. Neytiri would not serve Chaos, but rather scorn him for seeking destruction rather than harmony.
