Hey, I'm back...

Sep 08, 2004 20:40

Yeah yeah yeah, I know its been a while... meh. Summer was Star, and sprinting. Shit happens has changed to Lightning happens. Don't get it? Ask me.

Quick update of what's going on before I go to a dorm meeting. 1) Asheville is under water. We don't have any electricty on the dorm side of campus (but we do on the classroom side which is where I am at the moment). Its been about 24 hours now, and people are saying upwards of 72 more. And a recent development today storm wise is that Asheville's main water line broke so there is no or limited water to all of the city. Wilson has none. Bucket flushing with rain water. I am alright with bucket flushing with rain water in the morning as long as I don't have to make my coffee with it too. And classes haven't even been cancelled... yet.

Also, I am not going to be doing Ren Faire with Wilson this year. Sad. But I am going to be doing it with the main cast, and potentially even being in administration. Huzza. E-mail disscussion follows...

"Thank you for your letter of intent. We are just starting the planning for
our next event. I would love to talk with you further about your involvement.
I think you would be a wonderful asset to the fight training/acting part of
the group, as well as any administrative talents you might bring.
Let's set up a time we can meet in Black Mountain and talk a bit about what
level you wish to be involved. ~Happy day"

Later: "I really need an administrative/liason person on the Cast director side of
the fence, this position could actually be paid, not much but something, and we
try to keep out of pocket expenses to a bear minimum, we do pay some gas and
cell phone depending on use.

Please think about if this is something you would be interested in doing.
After you and I meet, I will set up a meeting with the cast directors. Also if
there is anyway you can get credit for this as a service learning project I
will be happy to write a report of your work or sign off on whatever you need. I
have a similar program with UNC-A, with their humanities 214 class.
Waiting to hear from you,"

Oh yeah, and... I guess it sums up my LJ experiences lately.

You will be smothered under a rug. You're a little
anti-social, and may want to start gaining new
social skills by making prank phone calls.

What horrible Edward Gorey Death will you die?
