I have a tendency to blow things, and we all know this. Opportunities abound and I shoot them down. From the mundane attractive-stranger's-flirtation encounters to the more splendid unbelievable-job-opportunities and et cetera ( Read more... )

If you want to do something, I mean, REALLY want to do something, you will. If you don't, you'll just talk about it endlessly in hopes that someone will pick you up off of your ass. Your life is what you make of it. Doesn't matter where you come from or where you've been. It's what you want in life, who you want to be, that you strive for and can achieve. That is, if you really ever wanted it in the first place.

Isn't it pretty to think so?

To think so? No, I think not. I am not just talking out of my ass, looking at the world through rose-colored glasses. Ya know, I almost wasted my time arguing with you. I'll leave you alone now, to continue with your "woe is me" view of the world.

I'm sorry if that got you a bit riled up. I didn't mean to make you so hostile.

My view of the world is hardly a "woe is me" outlook... its probably more in line with what you said than you think. But, if you don't feel the need to make a real case, I guess I shouldn't feel obligated either.

I just don't think it is worth an argument. Maybe a conversation, but not an argument. I tend to have a fairly broad outlook when it comes to life. I spent such a long time on the "I'm so fucked, I'll never be able to do anything" kick, and it just got old to me. I realized that even though my life started out as shit, it didn't have to end that way. (very 'after school special,' I know) I've grown tired of people who do a lot of talking, but never really get up and do shit about it. (and no, that's not directed to anyone in particular) To roll it up in a nice, neat little package, I guess I can simply say that I have worked hard to get where I am in my view of the world, myself and my general outlook on life, and I tend to go on the defense when someone seemingly tries to "shoot down" my POV.
