"...Yet our best trained, best educated, best equipped, best prepared troops refuse to fight! Matter of fact, it's safe to say that they would rather switch than fight!"
-- Thomas "TNT" Todd, a civil rights activist (his speech was later used in the intro of Public Enemy's Fight the Power)
Had to skip
Shana II because I haven't seen the first season and thus I might not comprehend the storyline. Ditto for
Noein, and right now,
Code Geass (we'd like a weekend replay for those who miss them).
That's because it's hard to get the TV all for myself because, you see, Bataan is virtually a GMA-7 vassal province because practically every household is perpetually loyal and stuck to that channel especially on primetime, so anywhere I try to watch TV I can't switch to
TV5 because they hate to miss their LCD programming (I call it the "Majority Rules" when it comes to watching, so wind up on the losing end).
Anyway...
I managed to watch
Mai HiME in its Tagalized entirety.
Like. So. Damn. Awesome.
Watching Natsuki yell out "LOAD SILVER CARTRIDGE!" and Duran blazes away!
Even if the SFX are slightly off... Doesn't matter, the dub team did well for the first episode. :D
While early, I hope the dub team should make some improvements as some errors seem to show up in some parts of the new offerings, especially when one of the "VJs" pronounced "Geass" as "JEEZ" or "Diyes" (WTF, rhyming with "Geese").
Hooboy... but anyway, I'll congratulate TV5 for doing the right thing (and possibly accomplishing the fastest television program acquisition in Philippine history -- one month from a forumer's request to the actual airing of Code Geass), even if there's the specter of the prudish MTRCB lurking around.
