Ninth floor...

He ascended the stairs, metal boots thudding heavily.

Aerith…was alive.

Either someone had a cruel sense of humor, or it was really her. But listening to her voice over the communicator, Vincent knew it could only be the latter. Her tone of voice, the smile behind the words, the mannerisms-it was all Aerith.

Eleventh floor.

Belatedly, he realized that he was entirely cut off from the demons inside his head. They had been blocked while he was being pulled here, somewhat agitated, but here, there was nothing but silence.

‘Cloud mentioned something about “BREW”, as did another person,’ he thought. ‘What sort of power does this place have, to be able to control the abilities of the people they have pulled here?’

And how on the Planet could it take people who were already part of the Lifestream? His brow furrowed.

…Twelfth floor…

‘Hn, so they want other people to fight their war for them.’ The irony of it. It seemed that anywhere, people wanted heroes to save them. ’How is that even possible if I am weaponless and ( ... )

[ooc: Aww, you didn't! There's no rush!]

The knock at the door, though soft, jolted Aerith in her seat and quickly turned her from thought. The silence was becoming more of a nuisance than she liked... being cut off from nature now felt like a handicap to the brunette. Though she recovered quickly, rising to answer the knock, and felt a smile pressing on her lips before it even opened.

"Vincent," she greeted her friend happily, grinning up at the taller man. He apparently hadn't changed from the last time she saw him, which was both amusing and curious. Now, if this were Tifa or Yuffie, she'd have no problem embracing or, in Nanaki's case, squishing. But Vincent didn't deserve that kind of torture. And she only wound up gesturing widely back into her apartment.

"Come on in! The tea's still hot," she retreated inside and gave him room to follow to the tiny living room space.

“Aerith.” He blinked a little when she opened the door, smiling up at him.

‘You have not changed,’ he thought.

Beneath the collar of his cape he allowed himself a small, relieved smile before he nodded and stepped in, taking note of the place. It was like the one he had been give-small and sparse, but clean.

"These apartments are nice, huh?" she asked absently as she adjusted a few of the chair's cushions, and didn't bother looking over her shoulder to check if Vincent had followed her. The sound of his metal boots clanking lightly along were always a good indicator-- she had become used to it, and by his silent presence.

Turning around finally, Aerith plopped down only somewhat gracefully into a chair and gestured to the other. "You've gotta be tired if you just arrived from a battle." she said lightly, then smiled. He always looked tired to her, but given his past, she never questioned that. "Have you spoken to Cloud yet?"
