[Rikku mentioned that Flynn arrived to the city, but Ram had yet to see the man. He missed him, and he had so many questions to aks him that he wouldn't know where to start once he found him.
He looked atll day with no results and now he was walking to teh Host Club Cabaret to start his shift. He passed the man with the glowing coat, but he was so focused on his own thoughts that he didn't recognize him. He was wearing a coat himself, because the uniform Ram wore under it wasn't enough to keep him warm. ]
Flynn didn't miss the glowing circuits in Ram's skin. They immediately caught his attention, making him stop dead on the sidewalk. But which program was this? Not Castor, clearly, but not Tron -- Rinzler -- whatever he was called now -- either. Could it be Ram? Or was it someone else?
What if it was Ram? Ram, alive, after all this time --
Flynn couldn't be sure, not without a better look at the program's face. Should he speak? Should he wait?
No. He'd waited long enough. Time to get his attention. Flynn called out the first thing that came to mind --
Ram was so surprised by the sudden voice that stopped dead in its tracks . No one greeted him like that here and that voice...could it be? He turned, light blue eyes filled with surprise and confusion. A moment later, they widened in realization.
"Flynn? Flynn!" So he was in this world for real. Ram was hugging him before the User had time to say anything else in return.
It was Ram! Joy, real joy flooded Flynn, and he returned the hug tightly, gladder to see this old friend than he could say.
When the hug broke, Flynn didn't let go, instead keeping one hand on Ram's shoulder. "You're alive," he breathed. Rikku had told Flynn about Ram already, of course, but that didn't make seeing him in person any less awesome. "I thought I'd never see you again."
Ram was more than happy with the contact, don't mind him smiling like a loony.
"And you're...old." He chuckles, he really didn't mean that in a bad way. "BREW brought me here after my deresolution. I couldn't believe it at first either. I'm so happy to see you."
"I'm glad to see you too," Flynn said simply, smiling a smile that...wasn't sad, not exactly, but it was the kind of brow-creased look you only got on your face when you'd come through a lot of bad things to happiness you hadn't been looking for. It was a persistent smile, though, no less so than Ram's answering grin. Oh, man, this was weird -- like seeing a ghost, but a billion times better because Ram was here and alive.
"Suppose I did get old," he admitted softly, seemingly unbothered by it. "It's been a long time for me, Ram. Over fifteen hundred cycles since you de-rezzed in that canyon."
The memory of his death was still fresh in his mind, and Ram smile faulted for a second. He tried not to think about it much, being in the user world sure keep him distracted, but he still remembered the pain.
“That's a lot of time...” Ram titled his head, giving him a curious look albeit he was still smiling. “You seem a bit different too, not just physically. But I guess that's to be expected.”
He caught that falter, and for a moment, Flynn's hand tightened on Ram's shoulder. Then, he let go, turning a little more serious himself. "Many things have happened," Flynn said quietly. But that was a story for another time, not a happy reunion between friends. He cheered up immediately. "You're the same as ever."
Ram couldn't help himself but he gave him a small smile in return of the squeeze. He knew a bit of what happened, if Zuse story about Rinzler and CLU was really true. And he could say it was true. Sadly.
"Ey that's not true..I think I'm a tiny bit taller." Ram patted Flynn on the shoulder. "I was going to work, wanna go with me? I will show you around, people there is really nice. I'm sure you will like it."
Flynn chuckled. Sure you are. He did wonder for a moment, though:could Programs grow here? It merited investigation.
Later, though. "You don't work here, do you?" Flynn asked in surprise, gesturing around him at the general area. "It's not the part of town I'd expect to find an actuarial program. At least, not working." Flynn knew well enough the kinds of diversions Programs got up to.
Well, if Ram digs it, Flynn wasn't about to judge. He wouldn't -- even if he had room to, which he most certainly didn't. "Okay, man. That's cool," he said lightly, eyebrows raised. "Well, what're you waiting for? Go on. Show me the place." He gave Ram an encouraging nod.
“Oh, of course, of course. “ Ram was more than happy to be Flynn's tourist guide. “The Cabaret is that way.” Ram was practically bouncing with happiness when they walked.
“They told me I was a weapon when I arrived here, and I can transform into an identity disc. What about you?”

"Yes, I do." And he really failed to see the problem with that. People here were rather nice. Way too nice sometimes, but he never gets the flirting.
