[ it was the only day of the year Allen even tried to sleep in but he couldn't bring himself to complain. It wasn't like he expected Link to miss Christmas day mass this time.

Does that make him 17 even though he just turned 16 a few months ago? ]

I'll be fine, Link. [ He answered absently, knowing more than hearing what Link was saying. Nagging, really. ]

As you always say, but illness would further impede our training.

[ Not that there's a lot of progress to be made there... which is entirely his fault. His discomfort has improved but not by much. He shifts the bag in his arms as they approach their apartment complex, reaching into his pocket to get his keys and pausing in the doorway.

He's not really sure why he decides to look up... but he does anyway, to end up staring at the bough of mistletoe directly above the two of them.

His cheeks color rather out of nowhere, his key resting uselessly to the right of the lock. ]

[ he trudges along with his share of bags until they're at the door. ]

Did you forget the key? [ they can hear Sunny barking excitedly. Allen's more focused on that so it takes him a moment to even look where Link is staring. ]

...oh, I'm pretty sure that wasn't there when we left. [ aside from that he totally ignores it, just takes Link's keys and opens the door to their enthusiastic puppy. ]

[ Allen taking the keys from his hand seems to snap him from his reverie with a physical jolt. Blinking several times, his mouth sets in a fine line before he leans up and snatches the mistletoe from the frame, with his free hand, storming in after Allen a moment later with mumbles of indecency and hooliganism under his breath.

Making his way to the kitchen, he quite nearly trips over Sunny with a yelp, offering the hysterically yapping creature a dirty look. ]

I trust you will tend to training of this creature, Walker. I will not tolerate this ridiculous behavior.

[ Into the kitchen he goes... before promptly tripping over Pudding in the doorway, barely catching his footing. An accusatory glare is offered to Allen, clearly holding him to blame for their pets' shenanigans. ]

I don't think he was doing anything wrong. [ unless being affectionate was considered something bad. Sunny seems to have taken quite a shine to Link.

Allen kneels to pet Sunny, letting the dog shove his doggy nose in his face. ]

I'm back. [ pudding comes over as well, bumping her head against Allen's leg. ]

...though don't we have to go soon, Link?

[ Being affectionate has always been a strike in Link's book. The bags are set on the counter so he can set to putting things into the cupboards straight away, muttering to himself about pet hair and messes all the while. The question is summarily ignored, it seems. ]

There is heavy cream in those bags, Walker; it will spoil if left out too long, do not dawdle.

[ Rolling up his sleeves, he sets to work on dinner - an exhaustive process, particularly when cooking for someone like Allen - and pointedly ignores the kitten that comes wandering in to wind about his legs. ]

And find the roasting pan; you did not place it in the bottom shelf where I prefer it kept.
