[After everything that happened in Linz, Mello felt it was only right to agree to move in with Near. They're partners, after all (and nothing else), and it's more convenient this way. He can keep an eye on the twit in case he gets in trouble that Mello needs to know about, and really, given how inept Near is at every damn thing normal people know how to do, it makes sense for Mello to stay close. The Christmas tree is harder to explain away, being a joint domestic effort, but Mello has that covered, too. It's his tree, obviously, and needs to be done his way. Just like the potica, which Mello is currently wrestling with baking. So help him god, if Near tries to put robots on his tree, or screw up his bread, there will be hell to pay.]
