When she had arrived at the ER, the girl had been unconscious, her arm had been completely jerked out of the socket. There were burns on her hands, around where someone would grip an object, and her forehead was damp with sweat. She had looked half-dead with exhaustion, and perhaps that was why they assumed it was safe to jam her shoulder back in. Kaoru blinked confusedly up at the nurse wheeling her down with tired blue eyes. "Ken...? " She rasped, but the woman gently held up a needle, running her hand over her sweat-soaked bangs. "It's okay, just be very still now. " As they slipped the needle in, Kaoru's blue eyes dilated, her eyes sliding closed.
There was a bit of sceaming that day as a shoulder was replaced into the socket, as proud as she was, the girl had screamed. After being fitted with a sling, all the girl had managed to ask was, "Are they alright? Is he?" The scowling, pinched look on her face and eyes only from being drugged from painkillers and the urge to immediately fall under. When confirmation was said, the girl's pale face lit into a softly happy expression, her exhausted face twisting with something like contentment as her head lolled back under the pillow, hardly sensible to begin with.

It was on December 21st on that day. The girl had been unconscious for two days starting this morning. Pale, the beeping of the monitors and the IV steadily dripping into the vein inside her arm the only constant as a girl in a sling, a pale hospital gown, and a few scrapes here and there quietly lay in the bed.
The painkillers had drugged her for the past two days, but now, she was showing signs of stirring. After a hitched breath in otherwise uninterrupted breathing, the girl's face wrinkled slightly with discomfort, and confusion. Her eyes sleepily opened halfmast, blinking up at an overbright cieling of white.
She might have wondered why she was surrounded by beeping machines, some even attached to her by strange tubes and contraptions. But all she could do was swallow, and rasp a confused, "...W...what am I doing here?"
