Description: itachi seeks out sasuke(???????)
Unsurprisingly, Sasuke has trouble settling himself enough to be seen by the general public after less than a handful of forays into the DEMISE. He still feels no sense of relief having come at least partially clean to Mustang, but even then, whatever small lax of anxiety that had come only doubled and rolled over him again when he stumbled across Rei on the network. It takes him a full half an hour to level his breathing, to drag the conflicting upswell of emotion into something more manageable. Even then, it's tenuous. He considers, for a moment, that perhaps he isn't fit to be doing anything for the Watch in this state, before slapping that thought down with a violence that surprises even himself. He needs to go and move, and the Watch is the only outlet he has. Roy has given him this much, and he's clinging to it like a drowning man.
It's after that he straightens, takes his katana from where it rests in the spotless living room, wipes his face with the back of his sleeve once more for good measure, and steps into his sandals. Some of the redness has left his eyes, but a pink flush lingers on his cheeks from the unexpected display of emotion he'd shown the empty four bedroom apartment. The door closes with a click and the turning of the deadbolt as he makes his way down from the complex.
Distantly, he realizes that at some point, he needs to let Shibusen know he doesn't have a partner, but even detached, the thought feels like it claws at his throat and Sasuke clamps down on it again, trying to find the bizarre sensation of unfeeling he'd had when he'd returned to the City. He's completely inwardly focused when he leaves the building, and doesn't bother glancing up into the street to see who else is there, as he normally would. Right now there is no outward danger, and he's found that in the passed three days, people have taken to giving him a wide birth, something he isn't inclined to complain about.
