Event Summary Here (
Lucerne, Switzerland )
They were everywhere, and it was easier to hear them coming than see them in the commotion.
They'd been cut off from the others in the chaos, and as they cut down a weak kishin egg that got into their way, they continued heading up toward higher ground. They would be more efficient at longer range.]
They certainly aren't fucking around, now are they?
[The words came out harshly, her tone grating. She could feel something clawing at the back of her mind, interfering with her thoughts. It...was bothersome.]

[He was, it seemed, getting used to dealing with the madness wavelength. Battle helped him focus, as did having a Weapon.
As such, he could feel that something was... different now, with Lady. They had been fine at the start, but as things had progressed...
They needed to hold out. The only other option could get them both killed.]

[Lady had encountered true madness wavelength only once, and at the time she'd been so focused on finding Dante and yelling at his partner that it hadn't effected her too badly.
This, though, felt stronger, more condensed. It pulsed in the back of her head, buzzing like a huge fly between her ears. It felt like her skin was crawling, even in Weapon form, like something had gotten inside of her and was digging its way around.]

[There's a wry note there, just to ease the blow of the statement. He was in control. Roy Mustang almost always was.]

[She's trying not to get too serious, here, but it's hard with all the explosions and that itch digging into her mind. Her wavelength gives a creepy little shudder, but she reigns it in, tries to hide it.
They didn't have time for her issues. Not now.]
Reply
[Oh, hold on a sec: blasting a kishin right in the mouth. Say aaaaah, you freak.]
Reply
However, she makes a stifled noise a few seconds later, trying to muffle the sound. Her image, reflected on the surface of the Weapon, is clearly shuddering, her head hanging a bit, her shoulders shaking.
Is she laughing? Crying? Scared? It's hard to tell.]

What's wrong?
[Good thing he's made it to a much more quiet corner than the one they were in a few minutes back...]

There's blood everywhere. Where is it coming from?
[She can see it, on the ground, pooling around her feet, even though she knows somewhere in the back of her mind that she shouldn't have feet at all. Wasn't she fighting something? Isn't there something she's supposed to be doing?
Why was it so dark?]
Reply
Lady. Shift out. Now.
[Been a while since he's given orders this terse.]
Reply
[She's shifting out all right, collapsing onto the ground, scuffing up her knees as she pushes herself back up to her feet raggedly, and then tenses her legs as if she's about to take off running.]
Reply
Snap out of it.
Reply
Let go of me!
[She glances back over her shoulder, as if staring at something that isn't there.]
She's not dead, yet! I can still save her!
Reply
Whoever she is, she isn't here right now. You're seeing things!
[He's going to try and keep her gaze on him, pull her out of this somehow.]
Reply
Then suddenly those eyes slam shut, her head dips a bit, and she lets out a low scream, which turns into something closer to a sob.]
It hurts! Roy, make it stop!
[That's an improvement, right? Except that now it feels like every scar on her body, and there are a lot of them, has split open all at once. That shit hurts.]
Reply
No time to think or consider any of that silly shit about propriety and distance. He pulls her in, hugging her close, holding her head against his shoulder. When he speaks, he keeps his voice calm and steady.]
I'm here. None of that's real. It can't hurt you.
[It's a moment like this where he realizes just how young his partner is.]
