Though Tenten had only interacted with the girl once, she still retained enough of an interest to find her and talk to her when Roy Mustang announced her disappearance. Their first encounter was enough to set Tenten's mind on interacting with her more. Her life was definitely odd enough. She was working to protect some guy from hundreds of thousands of people, and... that was really it. Tenten could tell there was some preoccupation and obsession with these thoughts, but she had no idea just how astronomical it was to Ran Fan. She knew it was normal however, and that was a tad worrying. Her interest in Ran Fan spurred her to investigate what happened.

Another part? Well, that was for herself. Tenten loves investigating and this would provide the first time where she was able to investigate by herself in a long time. Her interest in solving Ran Fan's location was enough to decide it would be suitable test to see if she still had those sharp mental skills and ability to piece together information like she could. Her preoccupation with ( ... )

She looks toward the door when she hears her speak, but only stares at it for a while. That was definitely not the person she was waiting for. She merely frowns a bit, briefly wondering what she should do.

But that was silly. She needed to wait for her orders. This was not the time to speak with someone else. Ran Fan sighed a bit and turned her attention to the floor. She had more important things to focus on...

When Tenten hears no response, she begins to think that Ran Fan is out somewhere, possibly the wilderness and makes the decision to break into gain more information. This information was crucial for Ran Fan's safety and location, and Tenten's nosiness and curiosity just can't contain itself. Pulling a tonfa from the holsters, Tenten wraps her hands around the handle and places her elbow on the shaft before slamming her arm backwards into the window.

What should catch Lan Fan's attention is that the window's glass has completely shattered and has started to trickle inside, and it doesn't seem to be ceasing entirely. Tenten moves her arm to the next half of the window, making sure to destroy that part too for easy entering.

It's certainly enough to snap her attention toward it. "...Huh...?" She has no idea on what this is. Is it an intruder? That sounded silly for some reason. Or maybe the prince had... No, he should have said something by now.

She doesn't fully realize it, but she's lacking energy right now. All she knows is that her instincts have told her to grab a kunai and be ready just in case. Hopefully this would not be another setback.

Tenten jumps through the window, seemingly careless about the glass and how it tears through most of her sweat pants. She didn't wear her Chinese Clothes for this occasion as she expected things to be fairly marring to her clothing.

She lands inside the room as she gazes around to find Ran Fan, and, immediately, deduces that she's armed. With this, she drops the tonfas, hoping that she's not showing any sort of hostility.

"Ran Fan? Is that you?! Where have you been!?" Tenten begins to walk towards her, with a scowl on her face, "Everyone has been looking for you!"

She tightens her grip on her weapon but makes no other sign that she's going to do anything with it. She frowns in return. "Do not interrupt." Her voice doesn't have quite as much authority as it usually did when she made demands.

"Interrupt what?" She had some concern for Ran Fan and her panic here, but she decided not to visibly show it as she walked towards her slowly. She noticed that Ran Fan's voice sounded more meek than it usually did.

She looked straight ahead, seeming to focus on something that wasn't there. It was a few seconds before she responded, sounding weaker even in her normal tone. "I must wait for my orders."

"What orders from who?" She just looked at her out of curiosity. When she got orders, she was prompt to obey and carry out so what person would delay this girl orders and leave her with nothing to do? Her tone was prompting some concern for Tenten, as well.

It probably looked a bit strange that she didn't move at all between the times when she spoke, not any part of her body or her face or even her eyes. It was even possible she wasn't going to move her mouth until she finally spoke a few seconds later. "My orders from the prince."

"Your prince isn't here though. He's back home. How is it possible to get orders?" Tenten walked a bit cautiously towards Ran Fan, and kept a foot in back in case she tried to attack. It was now Tenten was getting a clear image of what happened. Without direction, Ran Fan was at a lost of what to do and it was only a matter of time before this level of failure would happen. So, with Ran Fan found, Tenten decided it was her duty to motivate her.

And that was exactly the issue she was simultaneously aware and unaware of. She knew he wasn't here. She would be out looking for him if he were. But she needed his orders. Without them, she risked disappointing or, even worse, failing him. She was supposed to be fulfilling her duty.

Her lips tightened, making her frown look a bit pathetic, but she made no response other than that.

Tenten, with her tough love instincts, begins to take lead before launching herself into a lecture.

"There's no way you can do anything to impact him if he's not here. The only way anything could happen is if you died. In times like this, you hope for the best and try to be as ruthless as you can when it comes to the enemy. You can't fulfill, or fail a duty if you aren't given an obligation or order to upkeep it, right? And besides, what would your Master say if he saw you like this? Would he want you to see you like this?!"

Ran Fan was clearly struggling with her questions. She was always supposed to serve him no matter what. What if she did something that displeased him?

And what would he say? Her answer was always that he would want her to fulfill her duty at all costs. That was what she had been taught. Wouldn't he want her to wait for his orders...?

Something was nagging at her as she thought this. If he couldn't give her orders what would he want? But that was she needed to do. How could she just ignore that? Ran Fan had to do what he wanted her to.

...So in a situation like this, what was that...?

She look...confused? Panicked? It wasn't easy to tell, but clearly she was struggling with her thoughts again.

Tenten just stood expectantly, waiting for her to come up with something, or, what Tenten would really desire, nothing at all. With Ran Fan lost in her own pondering, Tenten takes steps forward, hoping she wouldn't notice ( ... )

The only sign that any of this was getting to her at first was the fact that her expression became much more pained. He wasn't there and she had no idea how long it would be until she saw him again. She hadn't wanted to think about that at all. Wars could last for years... She clenched her fists and lowered her head ( ... )
