He sits at the kitchen table, slumping with his head down as he has been doing since the night before. He has both hands curled around around the sake cup that Sano has served, one thumb lightly brushing against the ceramic as he tries to decide where to begin. Finally he begins to speak, his voice steady but quiet.]
Last night when returning from my shift I saw someone-a figure from my past. Someone who shouldn't have been there at all, but is in this city now to stay. This story that I have to tell... I should start from the very beginning of it all. A long story, if you don't mind listening for a while.
