Description: D accepts Leon's offer for a night out, giving them the chance to catch up and get to know each other again.
So far it had been a very busy day. After morning training D had worked in the park for several long hours. It had been nice to see Luke under better circumstances than the aftermath of an invasion. Once that was over, D had come home and barely managed to grab something to eat before dashing back out to meet Zack at the mall to help the man with his secret project for Aerith. That had been fun, but by 8:00 D was getting tired.
He came home again to change into something just a little nicer. There was nothing romantic about this, he knew, nothing at all, but he hadn't spent time with Leon in years and he missed it. Tonight was special. Tonight was supposed to show him that it was okay to set the problems of their world aside while they were here. It would be a nice change to go out with somebody that knew about him, knew what he was, and had already been forced to accept it.
D had butterflies in his stomach again. He'd thought Rhode's "family dinner" last night had made him nervous, but it was nothing compared to this. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he ran the brush through his hair and eyed his reflection in the bathroom mirror. Though there was little he could do without applying makeup, D had done what he could over the last half hour to bring down the swelling in the remaining bruises on his face. There was little he could do to cover up the scratches, but he thought that he at least looked a bit better, though he still despised his own reflection at the moment. D thought he looked far too human. At least his bandages were now all hidden beneath his clothing - an elegant-looking robe of autumn reds and browns with leaves down the front on the collar and cuffs - and there was nothing else he could to besides fuss over his hair until the knock came at the door.
Hiding in the bathroom was safest, after all. He had a clear path to the door, and it gave him the chance to avoid his Weapon, who was decidedly unhappy with D's decision to take Leon up on his offer. There wasn't any way to explain it to Shaun the man would like, though, so D didn't bother. He stayed where he was, everything he'd need to take on hand in a little bag, and waited.
