Reno...normally didn't sleep. Even as a kid he'd just never really slept at all. But when he slept? He SLEPT. Needless to say? He had been completely oblivious to anything and his wake up call was a fist in his face.

The second Cloud's hand had connected with Reno's face his eyes snapped open and his hand reached out and grabbed Cloud's throat in a near death grip. It took him about 20 seconds to fully take in the situation, realise what had happened and let go of the blondes throat. He saw the scrolling text on the computer screen, read it, turned and grabbed Cloud's wrist and just started running, dragging Cloud with him. He didn't CARE if Cloud wanted to play hero or not, this was a fight neither of them could win nor would they be of help in it and they needed to get to that shelter now.

Actually, Reno was in such a rush to get out that he'd forgotten his shoes, something he noticed to late. It actually warranted a small "Fuck." under his breath, the first time he had spoken all morning.

...Right.

Yuffie.

Reno sighed and turned the other way, still dragging Cloud and refusing to let go of his wrist, and still bolting along. If Cloud couldn't keep up...well...Cloud would just have to LEARN to keep up.

"Sorry," he finally muttered, "for earlier." and for last night was almost said but...really? Reno wasn't that sorry for it. He'd wanted to see Cloud, he showed up. Whether or not he was drunk was of no consequence, he barely had any inhibitions as is, he couldn't imagine acting any different if he were sober. "...And for stealing your bed, I guess." That though? He felt a little bad for.

Finally they made it to Yuffies door, and Reno banged on the door as loud as he could. "OI! KLEPTO!"

Yuffie herself had woken to the sirens with a yelp, her sleep quickly disturbed, and had actually tumbled out of the chair she had fallen asleep in by accident. That was what she got for letting her guard down and sleeping at the Gaia blessed fucking computer after all.

It had taken her a moment or two to get up off the floor, slightly dazed from both the warning and the crash to the ground, and from there had shoved on her boots, checked the safe house location, and grabbed her belt off the floor from where it had fallen with her chair, tying the damn thing in place before running out the door.

She actually had been partway down the hall, hoping to catch the boys on the way down because there was no way in hell she was leaving without them, when she heard Reno's voice.

"STOP CALLING ME THAT!" She responded without really trying and running back to meet up with them, skidding to a stop. Shiva, it was good to see them. Now she wouldn't have to track them down in the crowd.

"Ready to go? What're we waiting for!"

"MOSEY?" Reno sputtered, following without question. "What kinda priss-ass word is MOSEY? Cloud, if we weren't in such a desperate situation I'd be punching you in the face for saying that."

...Of course Reno wasn't BEHIND Cloud for long, he was soon leading the other two. He may have been drunk the night before but the fact still remained he was the fastest of the Turks. If the other two couldn't keep up...well...

They were his Turks, his family, his lifeline now, weren't they? And when the others couldn't keep up he always slowed down a bit for them...maybe he could do the same?

Not just yet though. He'd test these guys a little more. Sure, he'd fought them, but he'd never run a marathon with or against them. If this was his new team he'd have to see EXACTLY what they were capable of first.

But...oh great, he'd forgotten he was stuck with hero's there for a second.

"Who CARES about that Matt guy, we should be worrying 'bout our own skins!"

Yuffie could have kicked herself. How could she forget one of the only damn allies she'd made here. But then again, she'd been distracted and the fact that she'd found the boys had finished her Mental checklist. Only it shouldn't really be done. Everyone else in the damn building was screwed as bad as they were and she should remember that....Aside from Sephiroth and Yazoo...but really she didn't think she could be blamed for not counting them. She was able to keep up, or close enough that there wasn't a chance she'd lose Reno in the crowd and ran on autopilot as she attempted to think it through ( ... )

Much like Yuffie, Matt had been jerked out of a sound sleep, a nap lying on his back, boots on but untied, draped on the floor, arms splayed out - he'd literally sat on the edge of the bed and flopped out backward into a dead sleep ( ... )

He was still groggy, and there was something completely wrong, somehow, about being groggy and half-asleep and grouchy from lack of nicotine and caffeine and having someone looking way too energetic tell him that he had been awakened from a perfectly good and well-needed nap because Witches were attacking.

It was ridiculous. It was ludicrous. It offended his sensibilities as a thinking person from a world without Witches that weren't middle-aged hippies or teenage goth girls.

Yuffie grabbed at his arm, and he followed along with her, moving as quickly as he could make his body function.

"So th-ey..." his voice cracked, and he coughed, cleared his throat, "...the witches are attacking. Okay. Yeah. Not from a fighting world...ahnnngh."

He sped up, trying to make his feet work properly and not stumble like an idiot, the irritation melting away as it truly hit him that Yuffie had actually come back to make sure he was alright. He sped up the pace, "Yeah. Okay. I'll stick with you guys." he mumbled, "Bloody hell, wake up Matt, wake up ( ... )
