MEETING TWO (6 PM to Midnight)

Claire had made sure to get a chair he could sit in with his back to the wall, a skeptical look on his face throughout the entire thing. He was tired, sure (patrols were tiring sometimes, he was learning), but it felt like there was a lot of information being left out.

Or maybe he hadn't been here long enough to know it all yet. That thought lasted a second before he dismissed it as silly.

"So what're we lookin' at in terms of damage when it comes to us? People goin' in to die, or is that dependin' on what team they get on?"

"I'm.. debating whether I ought to be here or out there, if I'm to be honest with you." It isn't as though she's a stranger to fighting, or anything like that, but something makes her hesitant. Probably the fear of losing her life, more so than getting injured. After all, the type of girl who goes out into toxic atmosphere to drag someone back 'home' isn't the type who shies away from a challenge.

"It isn't that I doubt my skills in a fight, just.. hmm, I'm not sure. I can stay and provide support from behind, if you'd like."

"As it is, we could use people who are willing to stay behind."

Big operations like this almost always called the serious fighters out unto the field, leaving the city a little too weak for Roy's taste.

"I'm not looking for anyone to go out there to get killed." That would be counterproductive, if not plain out unethical. Roy had had enough of pointless conflicts. "This seemed like the best strategy given our objective."

[mostrodivino]

"Not sayin' it ain't a good one. Pretty damn good one, actually," Claire leaned back in his chair, arms folded across his chest.

"Jus' sayin', it's a lot of people and lot of fightin'. From what I can see, there's a big possibility of people bein' hurt, and I'd like to know what I'm really gettin' into before I go on and take a job. 'Specially big one like this."

"Fair enough." Roy folded his arms across his chest, speaking frankly in the next moment. "This is a full-scale military operation, against a base full of enemies. You can and mostly likely will get hurt if you haven't faced kishin eggs before. Furthermore, there's a large chance that there will be witches on the prowl."

That was the best answer he could possibly give, in his opinion.

Well, that was a better answer then when they'd had a few hours warning before all those Kishin attacked. Claire nodded.

"Okay. So watch out for the witches and make sure ya got some bandages nearby. Count me in."

"Good to hear."

At least he knew he could rely on this guy on a fight - or well. That was the impression he had for the moment. There was no way of knowing for sure until things actually happened.

"Where do you want to be assigned?"

[mostrodivino]

"How 'bout assualt or strike? Probably be better in strike, I'm pretty good at gettin' in there nice and close," Claire said, tipping the chair back with a nod.

"Strike it is."

Roy dutifully noted it down, and smiled.

"Good luck."

"Thanks! Good to be aboard an' all that. Should be fun," Claire grinned.

Put us down for the assault team. [Sure there had been the various attacks on the city, but this was the first time he'd gotten the opportunity to participate in a big mission like this and he didn't want to waste it.

Assault was the logical choice. They were good with smashing and displays of raw strength.]

You and Shizuo, right? Very well.

How much trouble do you think the kishin will give us?

[He already figures that Witches are beyond what most of them will ever be capable of so no need to ask there.]

A lot. It likely won't be as bad as the swarm you faced while I was absent, but this IS a main base for the witches. Their numbers are impressive.
