Things had been so hectic in the city lately that Spirit had forgotten that it was time for the BREW to act up again. He had only had the time to contact several of the guests to request some help in welcoming the guests to Death City, with Shibusen being so short-handed, before the technicians in the academy were contacting him to get his ass there. Between this morning’s run-in with Leo’s violent frenzy in the city, and Mifune’s subsequent news, Spirit thought that maybe he should have brought three mugs of coffee with him for this one instead of two.
“Hello!” the redhead greeted the guests as the first ones filtered out of the chamber. It wasn’t easy to be cheerful with so many things happening and an aching rib, but Spirit was the master of the melting happy smile. “Welcome to Death City. The first thing we’ll do is hand you your communicators. It’s a device that will allow you to connect with all the other guests here like you. It has other functions that you can read about later on in the manual
( ... )
[And here's a kid, kind of standing around helplessly. He... doesn't really know what to do, twisting and turning the communicator in his hand before looking up at the rest of the people in the chamber and biting his lip.
The question going through his mind right now is how? How can they see him? How can he be here? He wasn't even--
... Well, that was a story for another day, but for now he had to figure out what to do. And quick.]
[Just have some staring in awe for a bit, Kilik. He's never met anyone like you before! In fact, he's never met anyone before. So just kind of a deer caught in headlights stare actually.
And then he speaks, quietly.]
How...?
[More fidgeting and he nods to the crowd of people, hoping that Kilik will understand him.
[Because that's obviously what he is, yes? A weapon, really, though he's not entirely sure why he believes he is one. Just... something about him, yes?
Really, why would you put a figment in control of anything.
So he bites his lip and clutches the communicator to his chest, staring down at the ground.]
s-sob. Sorry. I have no edit key. /failscheckoutmyjugsApril 24 2011, 19:35:53 UTC
You could be a meister?
[ He offers, uncertain if that makes matters any better. ]
But yeah. From what I know about BREW, it can pull anyone in from any place. [ He rubs the bridge of his nose, mumbling. ] Just....can't return 'em so easily.
[ Kilik offers an apologetic smile. This poor kid. ] But we don't request who it brings -- it chooses that on its own.
[There's something off about the way this young woman is stood. Ever inch of her seems tense and wary, as if she doesn't trust anything or anyone around her.
She isn't saying anything. Not out of a lack of questions - there are so many running through her mind, she doesn't understand very much of what's going on. It's understandable after all. This is nothing like she's ever seen before. And this strange object they gave her - looking at it has given her little idea of how to use it, so for the moment she's practically stranded without a usable method of communication for now, but that's not so bad. She's been in dangerous situations without such methods before.
For now she's just going to keep an eye on things. What are the chances of her seeing anyone she knows? Probable? Or very low? Until she knows for certain, her guard is up. And it will remain up.]
let's see if this works. /knucklepopcheckoutmyjugsApril 24 2011, 23:53:11 UTC
[ Well, Chane's about to be greeted by two, dark-skinned and blond-haired little kid mutes. They run over energetically, demanding attention by tugging on her clothes. ]
Oi. Fire, Thunder. Don't bother the guests.
[ And their meister comes strolling over to retrieve them. ]
[Chane blinks, tensing slightly when the two children seemingly appear out of no where. She relaxes minutely when they don't appear to do anything more than tug at her dress, and she tilts her head curiously at them. Where did children come from? She hadn't see any in the chamber--
She tenses again when someone else runs over to her, and frowning slightly. The furrows in her expression lift as he speaks though. Him addressing her as a guest... would suggest he was from here, would it not?
Chane shakes her head when she is directly addressed, waving her hand slightly as if to dismiss the situation. She doesn't relax though. The people here may have need of her help, but... that doesn't mean she's willing to be trusting of them so soon after being brought here.]
[ Kilik shoos the twins away but it doesn't stop them from peeking at Chane from behind his legs. Man, what a handful. He really should've had someone watch them back home. But regardless, the teenager shoves his hands in his pockets and gives her his full attention. ]
Like Death Scythe said -- welcome to Shibusen.
[ He offers a friendly smile. ]
I know it's a lot to take in, but we're the good guys. Promise.
[Chane's eyes narrow very slightly. Whether or not they are the "good guys" in this situation is mere speculation and hearsay. It entirely depends on the spin the person puts on it. Anyone can seem like the "good guy" if they try hard enough.
She glances off to the side, before turning her head back slightly and giving Kilik a short nod to show she heard and understood what he has told here. Whether or not she wishes to believe it she isn't certain.]

How is he here?]

BREW brought you in to help us fight our war.
[ He holds his hands out in front of himself, waving them. ]
But it ain't as bad as it sounds. I mean...
[ Crap. How did he even make this sound appealing? ]
You get to be a meister or a weapon. That's pretty badass, right? [ .....even though any cool powers they had before were stripped. ]

Including him.
So he nods and is quite silent for a moment before looking up at Kilik.]
... What do I need to do?

[ He shoves his hands in his pockets. ]
You don't have'ta fight if you don't wanna. But until this war's over, there's no easy way to send you back home.
As long as you're here, though, I'll be lookin' out for ya. The name's Kilik Lunge! [ He extends his hand. ]

Thank you.
[And with that he's going to scurry off onto the rest of the tour!! Wait, calling back first--]
And I'm Pharos!
Reply
Pharos, huh? I'll remember it!
[ Annnd with that, he turns back toward the rest of the guests. ]
