Maybe that was Yosuke's biggest fear of all. Maybe he and Souji wouldn't resonate, not when it really counted. And with Roy and Dojima there, depending on them...it really, really counted.
"D-did the mission briefing say anything?" Yosuke asked. Normally, he'd be as bored with the waiting as anyone else, but for now he was grateful for the extra time to prepare. "About, uh, the time frame?"

It was easier to compare differences in scenery rather then think about what might happen if he and Yosuke didn't resonate. If something happened. Except nothing would happen, he knew that. Time to go into mission mode.
"It said that we had two days for this mission. So we're here until something happens."

Roy padded himself down for his cigarettes, lifted the pack up, drew one out with his teeth as he rifled around for his lighter.
"I checked the case files. We don't have much to go by in terms of preference - it'll take anything - but it does seem to favor particular times over others."
He paused a moment, to light up and take a drag.
"We should probably discuss how we'll handle this case."
If those two were fine with that, then he could call Dojima over.

Roy quietly signaled for Dojima to come around, then started speaking the moment they were assembled.
"This is your first mission, right? Have the two of you figured out Yosuke's form and practiced?"
ooc: We can figure out posting order later!

He didn't think it was possible to worry so much more in the presence of his nephew, but there it was.
"I can assume they have, or they wouldn't have come along on this venture," he chimes in, as he drifts to the little gathering, trailing smoke as he goes. "You do have a grasp on what you're dealing with, don't you?"
Failed resonations, failed transformations when it's needed most. Kids losing their heads at the wrong moment or making that one wrong decision at a critical time. Anything could happen, anything was possible when it wasn't him or anyone he had complete knowledge and hold over. When it involved wild cards like Souji.
Yes, far more things to worry over. He wasn't going to end this without his share of gray hairs, he just knew it.

"Yeah, we do. We'll be fine, we know what we're doing," Souji said; sure, it might be the first time they'd done this, but they knew what to do. Yosuke had transformed at least, and they knew what he was. And sufficient to say, maybe that snake tail thing was going to help out when the time came.
They had to be ready. And somehow, Souji really wasn't that nervous about that part of this mission.

"As we'll ever be, r-right?" He joked, trying to lift the somber mood a little. He threw a wink at Dojima and Roy, trying a grin on for size. "We'll be fine, you can count on us!"

"I'll hold you both to that." A brief smile, then the Meister was back to studying their area. "We don't have any intel on what we're up against, but based on the reports I've read, we're probably dealing with two targets. Fast-moving, if they can take down cars and get out before surveillance can get them on tape. Mind letting me know if either of you have any special abilities that'll help us out here?"
Reply
"I'm not sure what my Meister ability is yet," Souji said, shooting a glance at Yosuke. "But Yosuke's Weapon form is a weapon built for speed, and I've been doing well at not getting hit so that kind of weapon moves pretty fast."
As much as he could say without giving too much away. He gave Yosuke an encouraging look. "And Yosuke has always been the fastest on the team, no matter the situation."
Reply
"I'm a ranged weapon...sort of. Souji can use me up close, too. We're pretty versatile, I think."

That wouldn't be difficult at all, in Roy's eyes. Dojima was a grenade launcher. If that didn't count for something, he didn't know WHAT did.
"Wouldn't be the first time we're doing something like this, eh?" he went on to say, smiling at his partner.
