The room was a glorified mess, with fuzzy trim, felt patches, thread, a dozen different rolls of cloth and a multitude of other little items laying around-- and only one sewing machine to speak for all of it, propped at the edge of a table that had obviously seen lighter loads and had been the better for it.
It had been a process over the course of a good week (or two), and it was finally turning out. Well, somewhat. There was the frame work done - kind of - and a good number of scales attached - relatively speaking - and they all had matching pants - only Toph didn't have shoes - so... It was so far a success, China thought.
Just as long as they didn't have to leave the apartment for the next ten hours or so. People had already started talking, hadn't they? There had be some super glue under one of the jaw wiring--!
( Open to anyone who would reasonably be able to track them for carting around supplies! )

Offering it over to the country, Sohki smiled cheekily, "Now don't lose this one."
Reply
"So, why am I the tail end again? Because I'm short?"
Not that she minded, but it was something to talk about.

A glance to one of said blind people, China mused: "Mostly. We could have you in the middle, but that would make the dragon very lumpy."

He, of course, had appointed himself to be first in the dragon lineup, despite the fact that he was just as blind as Toph. Being anything else was just something that Sohki wouldn't accept, after all. Not to mention, he could only imagine Naga's reaction if the dragon king knew of his exploits here... or the fact that he was representing the guardian with a lazy backside.
A lumpy dragon. His expression seemed to turn more amused by the second.
"Yes, and we couldn't very well have a dragon looking like a camel," Sohki cheerfully piped in.

He curled up on one of the emptier tables, raising an eyebrow at both Sohki and Toph, "Man, a camel? Please. Dragons only spit fire." Tapping claws before he figures he should clear things up a little, "Big hairy ugly thing. Got a hump on it's back and a nasty temper...did I mention it was ugly?"

He'd heat up the glue, then ask for another modeling demonstration. Right! Gluing.

"I don't know, I think that there's something charming about the appearance of a camel," Sohki said with an amused chuckle on his tone. Then again, he did see the world quite differently than most other creatures anyway.

"This place is weird. Give me an ostrich horse any day, not something with a hump on it's back. How do you ride that, anyway?"
Reply
By different, of course, Sohki meant completely strange and unusual.

But then he hefted another sheet of cloth to the wire framework, eyed it, eyed Mushu, and eyed it again --
"Mushu." This would be no camel. And this was less of a suggestion, but, "You should be our model for this. That is good, yes?"

She snickered at the idea of Mushu being their model. She didn't know what color he was, but she knew he was tiny. It'd be fun to see how China made that work out. "Mulan won't mind, will she?"
Reply
"Me?" Okay that really hadn't been what he expected. He grinned and shrugged, "If y'all are sure you can capture my amazing self."
"She won't mind...long as you don't tell anyone where y'all got the look from." More people were finding out and while he knew none would blab, he just had to drive it home a bit more to feel really safe.

Mushu was very tiny, in comparison. But his face fit, as long as they could properly see it--
"This means you will have to hold still, you know! And -- your ears. Try to put them forward." Yes, China was on the creative move. Don't mind if said ears get pulled on a bit, Mushu; the Nation was just darting over to do so.
