It's Business Time. [Semi-open!]

Mar 01, 2011 14:00

Characters: thewarisover, members of the Watch, and whoever's interested in observing the group or interested in joining~
Location: All around Death City first, then back at the DOGS office.
Rating: G... I think.
Time: October 24, from early noon to evening!
Description: third formal briefing for the old kids and the new ones on the block, plus that meeting that Roy's been itching to have for a very long time.

[The meeting point is in front of the DOGs Office about an hour or so before noon. The Commander's looking pretty good for a guy who was bedridden just a few days back. His right arm is still bandaged up, though, and the limp comes out when he's unaware that you're looking.

Introductions are done once again, using the shift list as a reference point. The new ones plus whoever feels like helping Roy out are the invited on a tour.

While they're on the move, Roy goes over the mechanics of the Watch (the do's and don'ts, the things you all need to know and what you're expected to do) as he walks everyone through the designated patrol circuits. He's added, however, some tips that only come with experience - you can tell that he's been doing the shifts for himself at different times and different sectors, given how familiar he is with everything.

You're all right back where you started when it's over. Tables have been set out back: the meeting is outside this time, to compensate for the height and size of some of the Watch's members. Lunch has been served. Roy smiles at the lot of you.]

Unless there are questions, feel free to get started. Stay as long as you like.

[A significant look, though, to the people who are actually members of the Watch.]

We'll start our own meeting by 4 PM.

OOC. More Details on the Watch. Things You Ought to Know.
The stuff listed here is an extension of the general information provided here, in Roy’s inbox/applications section for the Watch. Just refer to that link for a background!

This list will be updated with new sections and revisions as things go on~

General
+ Watch shifts happen daily on the time slots outlined by the three shifts - in this sense, it is exactly like Germany’s training sessions. Unless it’s stated otherwise in one of Roy’s posts or by the mods themselves, patrols always occur. A formal log for the Watch will go up at least once a month, leaving room for special events and whatever else. Outside of this, though, players who signed up for the Watch are free to log their own patrols as they will.
+ As indicated on the DOGS spreadsheet, everyone’s been assigned to patrol a sector of the city - refer to this map for specifics. In-game, characters are expected to be prompt, and see their shift through from beginning to end on a daily basis. They’ll need to report to Roy immediately, should they happen to be unavailable on a particular day.
+ At least a week prior to the formal log, Roy will make an in-character post listing down the current security threats that his boys will have to keep an eye out for. There will be OOC coordination slated for whoever wants to handle neutralizing the threats, and the spoils will, of course, go to the characters who succeeded in handling the situation - the rewards range from money to kishin eggs! Also: feel free to suggest ideas for events to me so that we can see how to integrate it in the logs!
+ Each team can divide the work as they see fit, for so long as they travel in pairs at all times.

What the Watch Is Supposed to Take Care Of
+ Criminals, petty or otherwise
+ Security threats in the form of hostile entities other than witches - if a witch shows up, Watch members are expected to retreat and contact Shibusen immediately. Witches may occasionally appear as a special event in the formal log, however.
+ Kishin eggs that have appeared within Death City.

Notes on Duties & Expectations
+ Changing Shifts and Zones. Mustang will occasionally be moving people around, but I can have him do this by request to whoever happens to be interested, for whatever reason. Just let me know!
+ Unpartnered Individuals. the Watch primarily exists in order to give people more opportunity for CR and forging partnerships. Ideally, things will be set up in such a way that every unpartnered Meister will be paired with a Weapon on patrol. This’ll hopefully happen once more people sign up.
+ Promotions. Members of the Watch, particularly partners who signed up together, can earn merit with Mustang based on their performance and Meister/Weapon ranking. Anyone who’s interested in pursuing this in-game just has to let me know - we’ll work something out. XD
+ On Zone Leaders. Zone Leaders, as stated in Roy’s post, are basically the overseers of their assigned zones, and while they are not expected to be on every shift, they must be reachable at all times. Of course, it only follows that they will need to get to know the people under them as well, and make quick decisions on the field in case something happens. Furthermore, in the event that a pair cannot make it on a particular day, Zone Leaders are expected to take their place, or find a temporary replacement.

Other Notes
+ Beyond the Watch. Do note that being a member of the Watch doesn’t stop your characters from getting involved in other things, such as helping out in Germany’s training sessions, taking on another job or going out on missions!
+ On the mandatory training. This can be handwaved, of course, but in-game, members of the Watch are expected to attend Germany’s training sessions. The only exceptions are people who happen to be incredibly experienced, based on whoever they were prior to their arrival in Death City. The Watch may also have their own special training sessions in the future - stay tuned for this!
+ In case of injury... The Watch is supposed to have doctors specially assigned to take care of their needs. In the meantime, though, while we’re waiting for doctor types to sign up, characters go to Horrorspital, like everyone else!
+ Getting a hold of your boss. Roy makes it a point to show up at each zone on each shift at least once - beyond that, he's in the DOGS main office unless he states otherwise. Contact him any time. ♥

THREADS:
Q&A, right after the tour and briefing: Ask Mustang anything related to the Watch and whatever else, whether you’re a member of the Watch or a guest that wants to see what all of this is about (one new comment per person~)
MINGLE TIMEZ: Get to know each other a little over lunch and then some. ♥ Mustang won't jump into these threads unless you want him to, so lemme know.
NEED MUSTANG FOR ANYTHING ELSE? (DURING THE LUNCH/MINGLING THREAD): Just in case you want to take your boss aside for, ah, other concerns! ...Or if you just want to talk. Yeah. People who are interested in joining the Watch or having Roy convince their pups to do it can drop in here, as well!
THE MEETING: Closed to Watch folks, especially officers and the ones who showed great interest in helping Mustang out with his plans. Each thread under this one will have a main point or question - you can have your pups react accordingly. Thread jack at will - we can establish posting orders later. You're also free to post your own questions or stuff that don't quite fit anywhere else underneath the ones I'll be throwing up.
NEED MUSTANG FOR ANYTHING ELSE? (POST-WATCH MEETING): Still want to have a word with the boss? You're more than welcome to.
