Soul, of course, was just a little irritated at the fact that he had all of these errands to do. Missions were fun - they meant traveling in good company, with the constant possibility of running into something to kill. He hated talking to people he didn’t already know, and he hated babysitting even more. Besides, some of these guys were adults. Couldn’t they figure it all out for themselves
( ... )
Haru surveyed the surroundings as Soul went on about the living arrangements. It wasn't bad. It wasn't home, but it wasn't bad. It was definitely nice of them to provide a place to stay. But...Soul wouldn't get off without at least one question. The trap lifted his hand, jumping up a bit to get noticed.
"Oh, oh oh ohhh! Meme. I got a question~!" And he didn't even wait to be acknowledged before he asked it. "So is this place only for us? Like...the regular people from all around the city can't come here?"
"Oh! And you said something about partners moving in together. Actually...that's what a lot of people keep saying. Do you only get one partner?" Haru paused to frown a bit. "Because I'm used to having multiple, yanno~"
"Hahaha, you're so cute~!" He let Soul get away, smiling cheekily. Then he added on a bit more sly: "Buuuut I'm sure you'd change your tune if you saw what I was capable of~"
Aradia tries not to stare at the boy too long. He reminds her of someone but she can't exactly think of who that person is! Something catches her attention, however.
"Clinic?" she asks out loud. ...It was never a part of Troll Society to have a place to be healed. You did all of that your own, or you were culled! The buildings look kind of odd as well, she notices. Their hivestems were nothing like the ones on Alternia. They were crafted by humans, though. Not drones.
"Yeah, clinic." Soul raised an eyebrow. "New idea to you, I take it? BREW makes most folks vulnerable once they arrive - almost 'human', if you want to use the term."
As such, it went without saying that one could get hurt. Or killed.

The white-haired boy stifled a yawn.

...No, seriously. Was he?
"Partnering here doesn't have anything to do with--" uh "Anyway, no. You just get one. For fighting."

But still he couldn't help but press on.
"So you mean you and your partner aren't hooking up?"

This shit seriously wasn't cool. Soul rubbed the back of his neck, wanting to be done with the conversation like, right now.

And Haru pounced, suddenly clinging right to the scythe's arm, "Well...I'm sure they won't mind if we got to know each other better~"

And here was Soul, trying to shake the guy off. Why the hell did they always end up with the weird ones?!

He purred and nuzzled right up close.

"Not interested, all right?"

Because Soul was pretty damned sure that he wasn't going to change his mind. Dudes don't do dudes!

So yes, it is a new idea.
