Kuroro was being awfully relaxed about this whole thing, although Kurapika shouldn't be surprised about it. His parter would enjoy getting to play the part of a thief, and without having to worry about being punished for it, too. He'd briefly considered turning down the invitation to have breakfast together--it was a reflex action by now, thinking of saying no or refusing every time Kuroro asked him to do something--but food was especially important on a day like this, and he didn't have any reason to refuse.

So about fifteen minutes after receiving Kuroro's message found him wandering into the diner, sweater off and folded over an arm. He found his partner easily enough, and was soon sliding into the seat across from the older man.

The timing was a bit ironic. That he'd be employed for such a thing the day before, that is - he went to bed nearly forgetting, having gotten back toward early morning thanks to that... mishap with the pickpocket girl. Woken up earlier than ten, but had spent the lucky morning off (relatively speaking. Mustang was scheduled to reveal their 'scheme' later, wasn't he?) planning on scouring for at least one newspaper in Death City that had information about foreign countries. October 10th-- something good had to be happening, because he really didn't want to think too long on having progressed a year as a human ( ... )

He greeted Kurapika with his customary grin, too bright for someone who had not yet gone to bed and had no intentions of doing so. Kuroro would have said more -- maybe offered him the menu -- when China also came in, looking as dignified as always, if a bit on the simple side. He waved.

"China," Kuroro smiled, not really budging so China would have to sit next to Kurapika, where he could see the both of them. Besides, he was bigger than they were by far. "Happy Birthday." There, simple and without fuss.

"What do you guys want to eat for breakfast?" He could scold them about their efforts later.

"Happy birthday," he echoed, lopsidedly grinning up at the country as he approached, and somehow simultaneously managing to send Kuroro a dirty look while doing so - he wanted to be the first to greet China, especially since he was the one who told Kuroro about it in the first place. Still, such a childish urge, to be displeased at getting his thunder stolen; at least it was easily dissipated by thoughts of getting breakfast and getting to spend time with China before he had to go back to being a thief for the day.
