Characters: Open to Death City Location: Death City Rating: PG Time: October 1, Morning Description: The witches have come into Death City while many of its fighters are in Michigan. What are you going to do?
She could taste their fear in the air, the anguish and pain as she cut down a human that tried to attack her with a stick. The sudden change from Michigan to Death City, the frustration of having to run away with her two sisters, and the sudden lack of madness drove her to anger, and around her were helpless, easy prey. Shibusen's dogs would not be here, had been left several states away. She could deal as much damage as she wanted before making her escape.
She was there now, shrieking and laughing as she cut a swathe of people just outside the mall. Foolish things, to think they could find shelter from witches.
...where Yuffie will probably get her butt handed to her. OTLwutaisroseDecember 13 2010, 07:26:00 UTC
The alarm was enough to send Yuffie searching for the attackers. Without a Weapon she could only do so much, but standing by and watching was not an available option in her mind.
As she approached the mall, the ninja could already hear the people screaming and fleeing. Dark eyes narrowed and she pushed forward until the offender was in sight, and what a strange looking person it was! Without a Weapon she would be putting herself in danger, but she wasn't completely helpless. Avoiding a rush of escaping innocents, Yuffie knelt down to untie her boot then stood straight, raising her arm back before lobbing that boot at the attacking Witch. "Hey! Pick on somebody else!"
We can have someone (like Mifune) intervene when you give the signal!namelesswitchDecember 13 2010, 09:23:28 UTC
It was a lizard-type of witch, one of the many they would encounter in that world. She wasn't blind, however, and her reptilian, yellow eyes swiveled to look at Yuffie like they had a life of their own. Her mouth, permanently in a grin that reached her ears, bared to reveal matching rows of short, conical fangs. Her nose was flat on her face.
Her name was Mokula Newt, and she was not pleased at any human that dared defy her. "Shall I pick on you, then?" she snarled at the girl, the large, lizard tail lashing behind her in agitation.
That works! :3wutaisroseDecember 13 2010, 11:44:02 UTC
There was no denying the shiver that chased itself down her spine once the thing looked her way, but Yuffie stood her ground with hands set firmly on her hips. Maybe just looking tough would be enough to quell the sudden impulse to find someplace to hide. "That's right! It might be more fun to deal with somebody who can fight back, right?" She shouted at the Witch, taking a menacing (she thought it was, at least) step forward.
"Or are you afraid a tiny thing like me will beat you?" Yuffie snickered, rubbing a thumb across her nose and lifting her chin.
"I'm more afraid," the witch started coyly, practically hissing the words over a forked tongue, "That you're too small to eat."
And then the strangest thing happened with the lizard woman's tail -- it elongated, hovered over the witch's head, and promptly lanced forward with the end of the tail undoubtedly now a sharp edge. The target was Yuffie, despite the long distance, though the tail didn't come at her with any great speed.
A second shudder passed through her body and Yuffie made a face, but she wasn't going to back down now. Wherever her quick tongue had gotten her, she didn't have time for it now and Yuffie shifted her weight between her legs, back and forth until that tail was upon her.
The smallest twist on the balls of her feet moved her from its path and she ducked to the side before darting forward at the creature. Years of fighting dragons and monsters of the shadows had her assuming the weakness of her opponent already, and usually it was up close and personal that gave her the advantage over them. However, underestimating her enemies was fast becoming a bad habit of hers that she had yet to learn from.
Up close and personal suited the witch fine, where she would be able to make judicious use of claws and fangs. She dropped on all fours, body extremely low on the ground like a lizard -- she clawed her way forward, leaving wounds on the pavement where her claws embedded themselves with every step. It was this sight that greeted Yuffie as the witch quickly came forward to meet her halfway, tail returning, poised to strike when the girl was close enough.
There was a sudden fault in her forward steps as the Witch dropped to the ground, and where Yuffie was unusually proud of her flexibility she knew she couldn't match that. "What the--?!" With less time to react and a nearing lizard-woman the ninja touched both feet to the ground, shoving off to vault over the sharpened edge of the tail raised to attack, already bending her knees and ready to land behind her.
I GOT PERMISSION FROM YUFFIE-MUN I HOPE THIS IS OKAYhimynameislukiDecember 14 2010, 08:27:55 UTC
This was her chance, this was definitely, totally, undeniably and assuredly her chance. Luki had, some way or another, been patient and waiting out of sight. She'd been there since Yuffie started the fight, but decided not to jump in immediately. Yuffie was the perfect distraction, she was so loud and everything, that witch would be so occupied with her that she wouldn't even notice Luki taking her hat

She stopped her low, bent charge abruptly as Yuffie leapt over her, craning her (admirably) flexible neck to gaze at where Yuffie was landing. She was just about to lash out with her tail to swat Yuffie away when, bewilderingly, she noticed a movement from her peripheral.
Of, apparently, a young witch coming for her. Sure the clothing and the hat and the strange eyes and the clawed hand were marks of their kinship? But she didn't feel magic from this one, and the witch recoiled -- took six steps back with all four limbs -- so Luki would miss her. Her large, lizard eyes blinked. "What?"
Yuffie landed in a crouch at a short distance away, tensed and ready to leap away again for a follow-up attack that never came because... "Huh?!" She recognized that blur of pink as Luki and Yuffie immediately stood straight, holding a hand out as if that action and her will alone would stop the other. "Don't!"
Standing near her earlier-thrown boot, Yuffie snatched it up, and using Luki's distraction in that moment, threw the makeshift weapon at the Witch again in hopes of keeping her from attacking Luki. "What do you think you're doing?!?
That was lame. So lame. With the witch dodging out of the way and with nothing left for Luki to grab onto or hit, she crashed into the ground and rolled a couple of feet, scraping herself up as she went. Scrambling back to her feet, she turned to the witch, ignoring Yuffie for the time being. That hat was definitely more important than her.
"Hey!" she shouted, pointing at the witch accusingly, a tiny finger extended outward, "You weren't supposed to move out of the way!"
The child must be with the Shibusen dogs, if the impertinent one knew her. The witch looked from Yuffie to Luki with a degree of part confusion and part irritation, ignoring Luki for the time. Her tail had pretty much ripped the boot apart, or whatever it was that humans called footwear.
She audibly blinked at Luki again, pupils narrowing, and her tongue darted out to taste the air. "You are not a witch. Then you will be dessert."
Oh the absolute horror! Her beautiful boot... Yuffie took a second to mourn before narrowing her eyes at the Witch. "No eating people!" Even if Luki was more than anything making this much harder than it had to be -- not that she couldn't use the help. She just wouldn't admit to it.
Her gaze darted back to Luki, hands waving in the air at her because there was no way she was going to go by ignored. Yuffie just didn't settle with being background noise, after all. "You! Quit loafing around!"
At last Yuffie had drawn her attention, and Luki turned angrily to Yuffie. She still really wanted that hat, but she was willing to diverge her attention from it for a moment to yell at the impertinent one.
"I'm not loafing around! You should have distracted her better! I should have that hat right now!" she shouted, pointing at the witch's hat.
Really not a witch, then. She only took a moment to leer at Yuffie's ineffectual order for her not to eat people -- human souls were pretty delicious, even if not all witches developed a taste for it -- before considering her next move.
The witch didn't like being ignored, either. While the two girls were arguing, she lunged forward and lashed out with the sharp, talon-like claws of a hand at Luki.
