There were not so many things that got Date like this, but this was undeniably one of them. He knew that Dante was hard to please and almost impossible to work along with, but he had hoped that something good would happen once he finally managed to get the other to work with him. Evidently however, that was not to be the case.
The Meister had to do his best not to frown too much when he finally saw Dante coming from around the corner, though it was obvious from the tone of his voice that he was not amused when he spoke as the other finally came by. "About time you showed yourself up."

"I'm here now, aren't I?" One day someone was going to try and beat some sense into him, it was only a question of how many tried at once.

"Alright then, let's get to the mission," Date returned as he turned, leading the way towards where they were supposed to go - the shinigami's mirror, and then it was off to... wherever the mission was again.

Dante had yet to see the benefits of entering a formal partnership with anyone. So there was quite a few barriers towards getting him to partner up. You had to take baby steps with him, as frustrating and painfully slow as it may be.
"So how exactly are we getting there?"

"Alright, now that's what I'm talking about!" he exclaimed, grinning and feeling full of confidence as he put a stop to his running around and faced the kishin head on. Properly controlling the power from their resonation now, Date tightened his hold on the claymore as he ducked low when the kishin burst from the ground, striking at its underbelly with enough force to send it flying upward. That was just the beginning though, as the samurai leaped upwards right after it, weapon at the ready as he channelled all the energy he could muster into his next attack which Dante would be able to recognize as Aerial Rave. The kishin screeched at the blade cut deep into its body, and Date let out a shout as he sent the beast flying back down at the last blow ( ... )

Which brought him to noticing the bits of kishin still stuck on the blade. It had taken forever to get it out last time! He also warily 'stared' at the floating red soul. He would have to eat another one of those things, didn't he. Sure they didn't taste bad, but what the hell was the point? It still felt like cannibalism.

Pushing himself back up, he let go of the claymore that was half-plunged into the bloodied earth, staggering for a moment before straightening up. He still had enough energy to go around at least, though he was sure it was going to be a bit before he went on another mission like this anytime soon. It was pretty clear at least that he still needed to work on his resonation and abilities - and maybe properly figure out just what the heck was his Meister ability, at least so he had a better idea of what to do with it next time.
Glancing at the still-transformed Weapon, Date jerked his head towards the Kishin Egg. "Well, what are you waiting for? That's for you."

"What's the whole point in eating these things anyway?" He asked as he walked back to Date's side, feeling a lot better than he had moments ago.
