[China was even in a bit of a state of contentedness-- no, actual happiness, even if they'd had to return from Yemen to Death City, because they'd been able to get out in the first place. no where beyond that, as much as he'd wanted to, but... it had been a needed and wanted change of affairs. he was able to make a full meal this time, too, and finish right on time: the dish need only cool off (chicken, rice, assorted peppers and carrots and beansprouts; side of fish and dumplings. gracious, gracious, if maybe a bit overdone) but the table was set, and that was what mattered the most.]
