That's the sun. It's...well, okay, the sun itself is a bit odd here but sunlight's totally normal! So are the colors.

Sun? That ball on the sky, you mean? Is not going to explode, Rikku?

[She glances out the window]

This one's pretty freaky, but I don't think explosions are in the forecast.

[Ram never saw a sun before, he doesn't think it's freaky per see, just weird.]

And hat does it do? The sun stays up there?

It sets when it's nighttime, and the moon'll come out. Then the moon'll set when it's morning, and the sun will rise. That's how we tell one day from the next.

[He's staring at her with huge eyes now.]

What's nighttime? And the moon? And what's morning? You don't just use millicycles for that?

[Oh boy. Rikku refrains from facepalming and explains day and night to the best of her ability]

What's a milicycle?

[No sun means no difference between day and night, it was always dark in the Grid ;;]

A measurement of time, the one we used on the Grid. [And because numbers are his thing...]A millicycle is about 8 hours in the user world.

Ooh. Well, a day's about...three milicycles then, because a day's twenty-four hours, from midnight to midnight.

I will member that, thanks. And the difference between the sun and the moon is?

The sun's bright and yellow and lights up the sky. The moon's bright and white, but doesn't light anything up, really. It gives a little light, but not as much as the sun.

Nope! The sun's a giant ball of gas and the moon's a giant glowing rock.

[What..just what.]

Rocks can fly here?

It doesn't fly, it sort of....floats. There's books on it, if you want a better explanation.
