People come from across one another's timelines. Some people know things that others haven't yet experienced, and it's only a matter of time before the future gets revealed to those still living a life behind that point in time

[Action - After convo with Aerith]de_faulty_heroJuly 15 2011, 03:55:29 UTC
[He shifts his grip on his communicator and cuts the signal on the call as he drops it down on his lap. He leans more heavily on the wall at his back, stretching his legs across the bed and staring off at nothing.
He is keenly aware that he is not alone, but he say nothing and simply works on getting his emotions back in order.]
[He had given Cloud the distance he wished for when he had spoken to that Cetra, but tye moment the topic had shifted over to their partnership, he'd been unable to keep his distance.
There were so many emotions swirling behind his mask of indifference. Standing just within the doorway to their bedroom, he wordlessly regards Cloud.]
[He senses when Sephiroth appears in the doorway, but he doesn't shift his gaze to regard the other man. Instead, he sighs heavily and leans his head back against the wall behind him.
He can sense Sephiroth's emotions, but he was busy fighting with his own at the moment.] You heard everything, I take it?
[He remains silently watching as Cloud tries to get his emotions under control. Sephiroth says nothing about his own, and effortlessly pushes them back as the blonde speaks.]
[While he wants to know why Cloud would give such information to the Cetra, he holds his questions at bay. Instead he tilts his head to one side curiously even if his expression never once changed.]
And yet you are in pain because of the partnership we have formed.
[He picks up his communicator and drops it to the side so that he can draw his legs up to rest his arms on his knees. He finally casts his eyes across the room to regard Sephiroth.
He's not sure where this conversation will go.] I don't regret our partnership. I already said that.
[Sephiroth doesn't pull away from the door yet, but keeps the distance between them to give the blonde space. Watching quietly while Cloud shifted, he regarded the blonde thoughtfully.]
You have, and yet you regret what this partnership has created between yourself and your companions.
[He casts his eyes back to the ceiling and studies it for a little while as he considers what to say to Sephiroth. He never thought that the ex-General would listen in on a conversation like that, but he had no hid it either.]
Rifts are meant to be overcome. Perhaps I just need to try harder with them.
[While Cloud might be hiding it, Sephiroth can sense the true depth of the pain hidden beneath the surface.
He gave a soft grunt of agreement in response to Cloud's words before considering the options. While he wished for nothing more than to remain selfish, he knows that now is not the time.]
Or perhaps it's time that we break the shackle I keep you on, and you return to the sides of your companions. I am in no means speaking of breaking our partnership, but the hold I constantly have on your time. That way, you will be able to regain that to which you have lost.
[He blinks at Sephiroth's words, sitting up from the wall and staring at the silver-haired man for a moment. He isn't certain what to say to that, and he is weary of the offer.]
I don't have a problem with the time that we spend together. Besides, I find time to spend with them between my other duties.
[His expression softens for a moment.] The offer is kind though. I appreciate it.
I... didn't mean to get you concerned for me. I should have better control on my emotions. [He perhaps should have picked a better time to let that slip out, but it had. In some regards, today had been a strange day all around.]
As I said, I find the time when I can. I'm not leaving you behind because I'm having problems elsewhere in my social life.
[Sephiroth's silent for a short while after Cloud speaks. While he doesn't approach the bed, he does begin to pace the outer edge of the room. Not to trap Cloud in, but to dispel the sudden increase of energy he feels within his limbs. His movements as slow, but graceful, as he walks along the wall.]
[Pausing when he nears the window, his gaze shifts over to regard the blonde.]
You wish for me to divulge my thoughts and feelings, and yet you keep yours just as locked away and hidden as my own.
[There's no accusation there, but more stating a fact.]
[Glancing towards the large window, his attention remained on Cloud even if his gaze was taking in the view beyond their balcony.]
[He watches Sephiroth silently, waiting until the silver-haired man decides to speak again. When Sephiroth does, his expression softens to reveal a small portion of his previous pain.]
You're right. I have a pressing need to have people believe I'm strong in all aspects of my life.
[He sighs, leaning himself on his upraised knees and resting his cheek against them too. His hands fall to grasping his ankles as he remains silent and contemplative.]
I want to live in a place where I no longer have to choose sides when it comes to my friends. I want to have people accept my choice because I have proven myself and not hide from me because I made a difficult choice. I want my friends, my allies... they saw me through everything, even when I was a monster, and yet, they won't see me through this....
[Sephiroth didn't turn around. While he couldn't see it, he could almost sense the subtle change within his Meister. He remained facing the window even as Cloud began to speak. It was only when the blonde's words trailed off, that the ex-General turned around to sight Cloud on the bed.]
[Cloud didn't need to say why they wouldn't see him through the events here. He knew the reason, and it didn't need to be voiced. Instead, he quietly contemplated his reply.]
Then confront them over the way they have treated you, and if they are still unable to accept your path and stand by your side, then they are unworthy of your attention.
[That seemed to be the only logical choice to Sephiroth, even if he didn't have much experience at all when it came to bonds.]
He is keenly aware that he is not alone, but he say nothing and simply works on getting his emotions back in order.]

I do not like seeing you in such a state... and I am used to being alone, so I do not mind if you wish to spend more time with them.
