I obtained a sample of the sand constructs used by the witches when they overran the city yesterday. My own analysis hasn't revealed anything useful to locating those who have been kidnapped, so it's unlikely that we can trace where they're being held right now based on that.
However--and I'm no expert on this world's version of magic, so this is only a guess--would it be possible to trace magic somehow, from constructs created yesterday or at the scenes of past kidnapping attempts? If whatever powered those constructs could be traced back to their source, then it may lead to the witches and the kidnapped victims along with them. And finding them...well, I don't have to explain how important that is.
