I'm not sure yet. Bold and I can't decide on one we like... He might just end up with two names depending on who's in control.

[The admission makes Lain start, staring at him in surprise] You do? ['Why' her face seems to be saying, bewildered.

[Ram tilts his head.] Of course, isn't that the tradition? To give presents to the people you like and it's close to you?

Lain's quiet for a moment, before smiling a little] ...I shouldn't be so surprised, but... It's still something to get used to.

I'm sure you will pick the perfect name. [NAMES ARE IMPORTANT YES]

I understand, trust me. Before this day, no one gave me presents before.

It's strange, this...having friends thing.

Sometimes I don't like it; sometimes it hurts and I want to go back to being alone.

[She pauses] But then something happens--it can be small, something no one else even notices... and I'm glad I'm not. Er, not alone, that is.

I think that being alone hurts more than any harm friends might cause you. [Ram smiles sadly, remembering Rinzler and Flynn.] And I know how much having friend can hurt, trust me on that.

[She pauses, tilting her head. Her gaze is piercing, unblinking as though examining Ram from the inside out, looking at every circuit (and maybe she was, who knows with this girl), before blinking and breaking the 'spell.']

[She makes him feel very self-cousncious when she does that, but Ram tries not to show it. Lain can stare as much as she wants, he won't complain. ]
