THIS is the best Birthday present I've ever gotten
Everyone had been planning to surprise me with Kevin for over a month and I had NO idea. My Dad emailed me to tell me he was dropping off a present that night but then called to say he had a flat tire. Kevin's plane was actually delayed and he needed stall time.
Jenn and Caitlin gave me Saturday (a two-show day) off so I could spend time with him. They also arranged it so that he and I could go to dinner, courtesy of them, at a nice Italian place.
Tracey (who filled in for Esther last week) will be filling in for me this weekend.
Kevin kept his mouth shut and said nothing about this!
We were at Parker's after the show waiting for my Dad and having drinks when my Dad came in. I was facing the back of the restaurant so I didn't see him come in. He gave me some presents and newspaper clippings and we went on about our business. Then, mid sentence, someone puts their arms around me and I turn my head and it's Kevin's face. Caitlin started taking pictures immediately. My reaction was a sheepish "hi" and then turned to me burying my head into his shirt, crying. Apparently that's more of the reaction they wanted XDD
I'm so blessed with wonderful friends. I hope I get to make them feel the way I felt someday :)
