Gosh, am I glad that that I joined AO3 when I did (THANK YOU OMG for the invite, sahiya) - apparently AO3 has recently been hit by a deluge of writers fleeing ff.net, which is deleting fics for random TOS-y reasons. I just saw this screencap on a fandom community:

Oh wow! I knew they had quite a waiting list now, but WOW! I think they said that if they get more servers going or whatever that they'll increase the number of new accounts per day to speed things along. But yeah, I snagged an account the first day (first hour maybe?) of the open beta, and I'm glad I did.
